Very accommodating host, Simon, made sure all was just right. The room was large. He offered us a complimentary breakfast also. Close enough to Chichester and not too far from Brighton and seaside towns. Nice to be in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. We hope to return, thanks :)

As something of a history buff staying in such surroundings was quite special, the evening reception gentlemen were particularly helpful---it was a really foul evening weather wise and allowed me to leave my car in the "reception" car park rather than battle the elements walking from the regular one. Only wish I could have stayed a little longer (in better weather) to appreciate the grounds fully.

Everything, a beautiful room, so luxurious and very quiet. Perfect location right in the centre of Chichester and with a pretty walled garden. The owners and staff were very friendly which is a bonus when staying on your own.

The staff are great.
The staff are great. But found the food disappointing and could have been a lot better. We stayed for dinner one night, we found somewhere else after that. Super that we could take our dog but could not take the dog into the dining area, and where we could take the dog felt as if we were shoved to oneside. We would not stay again, as we have found a nice hotel nearer to Chichester, who let our dog into the dining room with us.

Rural location, great for gin tasting if you're into it.
Rural location, great for gin tasting if you're into it. Plenty of gorgeous countryside to explore.
We stayed at the white horse and ate there too, food was great and noticed that they do a private gin tasting for groups which looked fun!
Easy access to the south downs and very close to Chichester and West wittering beach.
Wonderful location for walking. We took our dog and had an ideal room opening onto the enclosed residents’ garden. She was made welcome by all the staff.
Wonderful location for walking and we followed one of the hotel’s suggested circular routes …sunny day and sensational Autumn woods and spectacular views from the South Downs Sun at.
The dinner was delicious with interesting choices for vegetarians.
