Great location and the staff were really nice. We had the family room with sea view (for my husband and I) and the room was spacious and had a lovely window seat to watch the sea. We will deffo come back. It was nice to have a poached haddock option for breakfast too.

We had a delightful, spacious room, which had views of the surrounding countryside on two sides. The room was well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. The lady who made our breakfast was very friendly.

I loved the people in this place so helpful and friendly, Recommend two cafes for a fantastic breakfast, The Kings Coffee and The Hog and Bean.
There are lots of charity shops and quirky shops to look around and a very popular bakery. On a Saturday there is a market. There is also a castle but unfortunately we didn't get round to visiting.

Very pretty seaside town; easy to explore on foot.
Very pretty seaside town; easy to explore on foot. Lots of independent shops, but there are two big supermarkets too. Lots of cafes! Interesting history very well described on clear tourist information boards along the seafront. Beware midweek in low season as most of the museums and both the castles are only open at weekends. That said, the coastal path is delightful and I spent my time (two weekdays in November) happily walking by the sea even though the attractions weren't open. Excellent public library with good local history section too.

We felt safe walking around at night it was lovely and peaceful. Deal it’s self is a very clean and tidy place, there are some great choices of food restaurants and some good shops to treat yourselves, especially like walking along the pier and going to the castle for our young son.
Would definitely be returning
The location and the staff were the positives to this stay. The staff were super friendly and the ground floor bar was welcoming and cosy. Location on the beachfront was fantastic. Whilst the hotel was clean, it was very small. The corridors narrow, the bed felt like a small double, the window overlooked the car park, the TV was tiny (and you couldn’t see it whilst lying down in bed) and the parking cost £15 per day. The fact that they provided cereal and breakfast bars, alongside water, tea and coffee in the room was appreciated.
My wife and I stayed here and cannot recommend the location enough. The room was absolutely immaculate and the bed was so comfortable we found it hard to get up the next morning. The owners couldn’t be more accommodating, giving lots of information on places to visit as well as places to eat. The breakfast provided can only be likened to that provided in a 5 star hotel. A big thank you to Helga and her husband for the wonderful experience, we will certainly be back.
Very comfortable cottage. Well maintained with nice furnishings. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of clothes storage space and hangers. Right in middle of Deal. Close to supermarkets, High Street and Beach. Excellent communication with owner. Welcoming card and box of chocolates. Lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses. Coffee maker with lots of pods. Smart TV with access to my Netfllix account.
Friendly staff/host. Lovely comfortable and clean room. Complimentary ear plugs (room was above a pub open until 1 am) which really did block out sound. Perfect location for us as we needed Deal town centre and close proximity of the station so you couldn't really get better. Cheap weekend parking behind the hotel in the station car park.
All the rooms had been upgraded and our room was very comfortable. We also had a separate bedroom in our suite - we didn't use it but that too was of the same high standard.
The location of the hotel couldn't be better as it is on the sea front and is also ideally situated to visit all the other attractions in Deal.
Amazing property, great location in Deal and the hosts made it all the better!! They welcomed us with beer/wine and were friendly/helpful throughout our stay. Continental breakfast was great—we already miss the warm morning croissants. Room was really clean and bed was really comfortable.

The room was spotless, the bed very comfy. Couldn’t have a meal on Sunday evening but the lovely landlord let us order a takeaway to be delivered to the pub! Excellent Indian food. Provided us with plates etc. Parking opposite pub. 14 miles from the ferry.
We were a group of 4 ladies staying at the hotel, Location was close to the station and sea front.
rooms were spotlessly clean. bed pillows super comfy. Staff were good.
Check whats going on in the bar the weekend you stay, it could ruin your stay!
Perfect location, fabulous staff, delicious breakfast. Dunkerley’s is not an upmarket, fancy hotel, it is comfortable, cosy, great value for money and always my first choice when visiting friends and family in Deal.
We liked the atmosphere of the hotel come Pub, our room looked over the sea, the hotel is a beautiful and well kept location everyone who passes or drinks on the open roadside tables takes photos it is ideal.
The hotel is a lovely boutique one. It’s decorated with great attention to details. The room and common area are designed to make you feel at home, and the staff is wonderful and friendly.
Perfect location. Walk out of the room straight into the Main Street next to the beach. The pier is directly across from the hotel so an ideal central location.
