The location was absolutely perfect — right in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Almost everything I wanted to explore was within a 15–20 minute walk, which made my stay super convenient. The surrounding vibe was lively yet charming, with historic streets and attractions all around. I really appreciated how easy it was to get around without needing transport.

A modern and comfortable hotel, perfectly located in the heart of the old town, very close to the central train station and public transport stops, providing easy access to the airport and the city. The location is also ideal for exploring the city on foot. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless with daily cleaning and free minibar replenished every day. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety and excellent quality, and the option to order from the menu in addition to the buffet was a nice touch, making the experience even more enjoyable.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

A lovely city with loads to see and do such as the castle, the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral the Camera Obscura, ghost tours etc. Lots of beautiful old buildings. Great for sightseeing and shopping. Some great restaurants and pubs full of character. Would definitely visit again.

Edinburgh is essentially a living movie set.

Edinburgh is essentially a living movie set. It manages to be both moody and gothic in the Old Town, yet bright, leafy, and sophisticated in areas like Bruntsfield and Stockbridge. It’s one of the few cities where you can climb a volcano (Arthur’s Seat) in the morning and be at a world-class cocktail bar by the afternoon. It’s 10/10 for anyone who loves history mixed with a modern, creative food scene. Favourite Places & Eats Some "must-visit" spots for a trendy couple include: Where to Eat & Drink - The Outsider (Old Town): For a romantic dinner with a view of the Castle. It’s chic, understated, and the food is consistently amazing. - Soderberg (Bruntsfield/Meadows): A Swedish bakery that is the definition of "trendy." Their cardamom buns and open-faced sandwiches are essential for a Bruntsfield stay. - The Scran & Scallie (Stockbridge): A gastropub by Michelin-starred chefs. It’s cosy, rustic-chic, and serves the best modern Scottish food. - Paradise Palms: If you want a fun, neon-lit vibe with great cocktails and vegetarian "soul food." Favourite Spots - Victoria Street: The colourful, curved street that inspired Diagon Alley. It’s a bit touristy but essential for the "gram." - Circus Lane: Located in Stockbridge, this is arguably the most beautiful mews street in the UK. - Dean Village: A hidden oasis by the Water of Leith that feels like a fairytale. Edinburgh is incredibly walkable, especially if you enjoy wandering through historic closes and parks. However, it is very hilly (your legs will get a workout!).

I liked everything. The hotel is located in the city centre, close to the train station and the main attractions. There is an Edinburgh Hop-on Hop-off tour bus stop opposite the hotel entrance. The hotel was clean and warm, with a SPA on the third floor, where we stayed. The staff were professional, attentive, and friendly. Breakfast was very tasty and well worth the money.
