The owner is an exceptionally kind person, and the facilities were all beat and well organized. The showers (2) are very well equipped and the water is amazing.

The property is very new with all the amenities. It is clean. It has a washer and a heated drying rack in the washroom which I think is a bonus. All the cooking utensils are available. The place is so spacious. I would come back again.

Andy was super nice when we checked in and himself gave a quick tour of the stay.
Absolutely incredible views from the property where you see a small airport right in front of you, beside a lake and Fjords.
The space in the apartment was enormous for us two to relax. The kitchen had everything well maintained and all equipment.
The parking was right in front of the place (extremely very accessible for luggage movement).
Wifi worked great, ample of space for sitting and spending time in the apartment.
Absolutely 10/10 experience at the stay for us.

A nice town with plenty to do in the surrounding area. During our stay, we got pizza from Askur Pizzeria, which was phenomenal, especially after a long day of travel. The main reason we chose to stay here was because we wanted to see the puffins at Borgarfjarðarhöfn, and hike the waterfall circle. Egilsstaðir was a perfect central location for us to see everything we wanted to in the area, and then some. The Netto nearby allowed us to get whatever we needed for our stay. We skipped the Vok baths, as one in our party was pregnant, and she could not enjoy the hot waters. We would definitely stay here again.

It is unusual to find a place that has a still quietness with great beauty. Sitting on the porch, I could only hear the wind and birds. My teenage grandkids loved it too. They were disappointed that we only planned to stay one night. We would definitely stay here again.

A welcoming off-the-beaten-path simple youth hostel, ideal for a short stay while exploring Iceland.
Though some features show their age, the space is clean, comfortable, and well organized. The true highlight is the cosy kitchen and dining area, offering a stunning view of the fjord — a perfect spot to unwind and take in the scenery.

It was a peaceful place and we liked it very much. The property was very good. I just would have liked an espresso machine. Also, the position of the bathroom is inconvenient for the people in the room next to it. The others could easily disturb them. Otherwise, everything was very pleasant.

It is a beautiful secluded town in Eastfjords filled with colorful houses. Serene and quiet surrounded by beautiful mountains. We wish we had more time to visit artisan galleries. Unfortunately we arrived late evening and art studios were closed.

There is so much to do here, using Egilsstadir as a base. An absolute MUST is a soak in the VÖK Baths, a mere 2km out of town.
Day trips out to the Puffin colony at Bakkafjördur, or the very cute harbour town of Seydisfjordur, for example. A trip around to Hallormsstadur as well as further day trips north are next on our list.
We had great wood-fired pizza at Askur Pizzeria and brilliant coffees at Tehusia Hostel, which had a great buzz-y vibe.
