Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.

Large room for Japanese standards. Comfortable beds. Central aircon works great and is very quiet. Staff super friendly and polite. Location next to Prince hotel up the hill from Shinagawa station is convenient. Coin laundry inside hotel. Overall a better choice for the price than slightly cheaper APA, Mystays or the like.
Extremely convenient location, quiet individual pods, clean facilities, comfortable beds. It made the experience of staying at a capsule hotel quite luxurious and set a high bar for my other stays in Japan.
It is budget friendly, but the baths and toilets were clean. The sleeping space was enough considering a capsule hotel and the fellow room mates were really considerate and well behaved making the stay really good. The staff were friendly and able to communicate in English adequately.
The private room was fantastic considering that most of my trip has been in capsule styled rooms. The price was also very fair and you'd be hard pressed to find a private room for cheaper. I loved having a private AC that I could control as most other places had a shared one people had to fight over. The staff were also very friendly and spoke English which is fantastic cause my Japanese is very poor. I enjoyed spending time hanging out in the lobby chatting with the other guests and making friends.
1. Convenient (within 5 minutes from Suehirocho and Akihabara stations)
2. Decent amenities (in-room and in-hotel), with some freebies (e.g. unlimited free drinks in the lounge)
3. Room area, compared to some other capsule hotels, is quite well-lit and ventilated, and doesn't have any musty smell.
4. Cheap breakfast (500 JPY only)
Conveniently placed, women-only capsule hotel near Akiba station. The capsules are good if a bit too warm, but there’s lots of bathrooms dotted around the building and a downstairs lounge for eating. No microwave, but there’s boiling water and vending machines. The downstairs shower room has laundry machines (both washer and dryer) and pyjamas are included as part of the linen. Everything gets changed every day (you can’t opt out) and they clean the place from 10-4 so you can’t hang out during the day.
The whole vibe of a capsule hotel is great and definitely gives a unique sleeping experience with the style the pods are in, staff are friendly and helpful
1. No daily check out when staying more than one night = can stay and leave belongings in the capsule
2. Clean and modern facilities
3. Private shower rooms (some Japanese capsule hotels only have public bath that everyone goes in naked)
4. Bathrooms and lockers are conveniently located on the same floor near all the capsules (some capsule hotels have them on separate floors)
5. Friendly fellow foreign travelers
6. Near a train station (but a small one so not that may train lines pass)
