Really great stay, easy to organise and reception helpful. Someone took my car spot before I came back in the evening so that was annoying- but there was a car spot on the street nearby. Woke up during the night because the room was cold- turned on heater and used an extra blanket and was all good. Location was easy to get to everything nearby that I wanted to visit in the morning.

Beautifully tucked away, didn’t get the opportunity out to use the pool but it looked very inviting. Gorgeous bathroom, perfect for a family. Owners very thoughtfully put up a Christmas tree for the holidays.

Lovely old gold boom architecture, beautiful tree-lined streets (great in autumn). Amazing bookshop. The Mill (recently recycled industrial complex) is very well done with interesting and high quality specialist outlets (cheese, wine, smallgoods, etc.) and a great Viennese cafe (couldn't believe it!).

A pleasant country town with a lot of history.

A pleasant country town with a lot of history. Nice tree lined streets and old historic buildings. The road traffic through the town centre is a bit chaotic and too fast making it a bit tricky to cross at times. Some Nice coffee shops in town and the visitor information centre is worth a visit.

Castlemaine is a picturesque town, some good attractions from what I saw in the almost two days I was there. Would go back to the Five Flags Hotel again where I had dinner. The old prison is amazing, never seen anything like it.

Castlemaine is an interesting city with lots of accommodation and dining options. It is designed around tourism and there are lots of interesting shops and attractions. The surrounding areas are interesting too. We could have spend more time there. The town centre is easily walked.

with our accommation at Goldenray, there was no sitting room, no lounges or padded chairs, no wardrobes that were open, there was no proper kitchen, we could only walk from bedroom to bedroom and up the hallway when inside, we were aware that the owner was sharing the other part of the house, not quite what we expected.

The Clevedon Cottage is a delightful place with everything you need for a short stay in Castlemaine. The cottage is beautifully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The manor garden is so nice with such a variety of plants and birds. It is a short walk to the town centre and not far to the botanic gardens, "The Mill", various pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to any couple or a family of three, we will certainly be back again.

Lovely newly renovated family room was perfect for our stay, very spacious. High-end toiletries were a bonus with an eco-friendly feel. Kitchenette was well stocked with plates and cutlery for our self catered breakfast. Jane was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice thoughtful touches of snacks in room and bonus yummy breakfast pack. Lovely comfy beds and the smart TV was better than most hotels provide. Although it is on a main road the room was quiet and secluded. Good parking for car and bikes.

The tent was spacious and well appointed; had pretty well everything you could ask for and expect from a luxury family-sized experience... better than most hotels that we've stayed at. The amazing thing was how clean the tent was - including all the cups/utensils and bedding. Just brilliant. The AC was quiet and worked well to warm the tent. The claw-foot bath on the decking was beautiful. The beds and bathroom was brilliant, and our 12/16yo actually had fun in the children's nook.

Lodge was close to station and town , easy walking to sites around Castlemaine. Our host was very friendly, made us very welcome. Knowledgeable of the area , sites to see, places to eat. Some rooms on 1st floor which some people may find difficult however we had no issue.
