AustraliaThe property is very clean and comfortable, and is only 50 metres or so away from the northern end of the main street. The hosts live on site in a separate unit, however the apartment is private and quiet. The hosts were exceptionally generous with welcome food and drinks.

CanadaI really enjoyed staying at the Sleepy Hollow Hideout near Stanley. Sleepy Hollow Hideout 2 (SHH2) was clean and was furnished with new and comfortable furniture and new-condition facilities. SHH2 had the best couch of all the places I stayed at in my 3 weeks in Tasmania - and it reclined too! I also really appreciated the stretchy cotton bedding which felt a bit warmer than plain sheets in cool May nights. The in room heater worked well and kept the indoor temperature just right. The kitchenette was great to have so that I could prepare simple meals and having things like milk, coffee, sugar etc in jars instead of little packets was extra convenient - I could use as much as needed. SHH2 was close to the main highway and close to Stanley as long as you have a vehicle. I was met by the proprietor even though I arrived later than expected and felt welcome! I really enjoyed my stay at SHH2 and would book there agin!

Smithton was a good base to go to Marrawah and Stanley, you could also visit Cradle Mountain from being based at Smithton. Smithton is a great base for exploring the Tarkine Drive.
Smithton is a great base for exploring the Tarkine Drive. You can do the circular drive starting and finishing in the same location. Has a supermarket, coffee shops and restaurants. There are a lot of things we haven't done ie museum and cheese factory.Guest review byLovellAustralia - 8.0

Enjoyable stay. Travelled to Green point beach. Wonderful scenery. Accommodation quite good however had to go find a staff person to be able to checkin. Booked at hotels restaurant for tea, however only 1 person serving so took longer to place our order waiting in line, and then after paying and waiting for meals to come were told one was not available so had to change order to something else and also had to chase up a drink that wasn't served. Fabulous visitor centre with great staff. Really helpful. Informed us about the tour of the local Robotic Dairy. This proved extremely interesting and we sampled cheeses they make afterwards. This town is the original home of Duck River butter! Taste sensation! Fortunately the B and B we stayed in included this in their breakfast selections. Friendly town, friendly people. Host Laura was super friendly & even provided us with a lovely surprise of cold bubbles as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Our little dog Evie was made welcome so that gets our vote every time.
