We stayed here while cycling the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and there were many other people staying here doing the same thing. We had a very comfortable family cabin tucked away up the back corner. It was spacious with a good sized bathroom and very clean. The kitchen and fridge looked almost new. The facilities at the caravan park were good. We didn't use the pool but did a load of washing in the laundry room. A great pub is just a short walk away.

Loved the closeness to shops, bakery, food outlets & Somerset Dam. The Motel had everything we needed. Bed was great, size of the room was good & so was the hot shower. Very quiet at night too & we loved the Saturday markets across the road.

Excellent location for our ride on the BVRT. Comfortable and roomy. Excellent facilities, squeaky clean and very good range and quantity of foods for the continental breakfast. A lock up shed for bikes is very helpful. Peter was quick to communicate and help with all questions.

We loved every bit of our stay at the Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff were most helpful and friendly. Anyone thinking about a stop in the Brisbane Valley, the Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Dinner is available in the restaurant, and a light breakfast is available in the shared kitchen, such as tea or coffee and toast. Totally recommend.

A nice little country town with interesting churches,...

A nice little country town with interesting churches, historic but tiny old railway station and a large golf course. There was a bike track along the old rail line which I would like to get back to at some point. It appears to stretch between towns - something I would like to verify myself. Possible photographic possibilities there with old railway bridge? There were two very nice buildings that had just been done up, next to the Exchange Hotel where we stayed, a bank rejigged to B&B and a hair saloon that was just immaculate. There was a fantastic IGA very handy on the main drag as was there a Bunnings which unfortunately I had no use for on the day. Saturday night we ate at the Exchange which was very busy with a 120-year Rail celebration and the food was generous the service country country-friendly. Driving around on a weekend was a breeze on deserted streets. Being a Sunday when we were there, not much open, and anyway we were just passing through to Blackbutt. We did though stop at the Fudge shop on the main highway through to Esk (as you exit Toogoolawah). There was a great view to a sunset from west Toogoolawah but I had to sneak unto a tip (for the best view) to get a snapshot. A lookout would be a desirable project from my point of view. Like wise for a sunrise the golf course might be the best bet - which you will also have to sneak onto as it is private property. Definitely will visit the town again.

Various accommodation options, couple of Pubs, supermarkets and range of specialty shops in the town centre. A quaint country town with salt of the earth people. Have a chat café was expensive to eat at (2 toasted sandwiches and 2 coffees came to $30. Otherwise a great little town.

As a stopover on the BVRT, Toogoolawah offered interesting places to visit. Peddlars Rest was excellent accomodation. The Condensery (Australia's claim to fame for condensed milk production) is now a beautiful art gallery. Two Galahs Gallery was full of unique giftware. The Red Cross Op Shop was well set out and stocked with bargains. The only down side was the Exchange Hotel in the main street where we waited 40 minutes for an order of 2 bowls of vegetables that never appeared and the staff didn't seem interested in rectifying the problem. We eventually asked for a refund and went home hungry. Thankfully the positives in Toogoolawah outweigh the negatives.

If you could turn back time ? This is it with all the modern features plus nice and quiet and safe . A lovely gallery at the back and a museum . You could spend time discovering more. No traffic here and walk to the pub for dinner.
