This is my first visit to Ottawa, I found the city to be lovely , clean & elegant, the people very friendly. The restaurants were amazing. The hospitality exceeded my expectations. I will definitely plan a next visit when the weather is warmer.
Ottawa is my home town so I love it. People are very friendly. There are some great restaurants and pubs. Lots to do outdoors. The museums and National Art Gallery are worth a trip just for that experience. A great place to relax.
It is a wonderful city to visit. It has so many museums to see and there is also the parliament. If you go in the wintertime, you can enjoy the rideau canal by skating on it and sip on some hot chocolate to warm you up. In addition, there is the winterlude festival in the wintertime. Ottawa also has a great food scene with a modern twist mostly of Elgin or bank and in the byward market (Play food and wine, Atelier, Town, the whalesbone, Erling’s variety, two six ate, oz kafe, for great Greek food go to Evoo, for late night burgers, you can hit zak’s and it’s open 24/7). I am not a fan of pubs, but it Ottawa has so many! The byward market is great, especially in the warmer months with fresh local produce. There is also the ribfest in the summer on sparks. Do not neglect to go to the Quebec side and visit Gatineau’s National Park. A little head’s up: in the Ottawa region, restaurant close a little earlier than other cities such as Montreal.
Ottawa is a beautiful city without the traffic. The architecture of the parliament buildings is fabulous!! There is a lot of cultural sites, shopping areas, restaurants and the canal makes the city special
I was on a business trip yet I got some time to go around. I stayed in downtown, everything was in a walking distance. Lots of Shawerma restaurants with delicious kebabs and hummus. The parliment and Rideau canal were amazing. My trip was in March so everything was covered with snow and the river was frozen. Not much to see in winter.
Lovely City, vibrant Market area. Good for shopping at the Rideau Centre and great little stores along Sussex drive. Good variety of restaurant and pubs at prices to fit all budgets. National Arts Centre well worth a visit, recently renovated and quite beautiful. All in a good City to visit.
“I liked the location - close to the highway to go downtown or out to the country. Loved that the Ottawa trail was close by - great for a morning jog. Starbucks in the Student Commons was a plus - as was the shopping facilities across the road.”
“Located close to sights of downtown Ottawa, within walking or short taxi drive.”
“It suited us because it was close to Parliament Hill and the Canada Day events that we wanted to attend.”
“This was a great place. Located downtown it was close by the bike trails along the river and the canal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool and spa were clean and relaxing. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. Best of all, we could have our little dog with us. We highly recommend this hotel.”
“Perfect for traveller without vehicle as it's downtown Ottawa transit options are fabulous”
