Breakfast at 9am, lunch at 1pm, dinner at 6:30pm, complete meals, for example breakfast had fruit, eggs and a starch/carb with coffee or juice, lunch & dinner with a salad, protein, carb - typical of Colombian household you eat what they cook although if you're super picky you can pick something else as a protein (ex: pork instead of fish) Many shaded & lounging areas to take refuge from the sun. Canoes, snorkel gear, and a board to enjoy time in the water. Activities offered to visit other islands are great options to make the day go by. Public beach "next door" with a cevicheria for different, more social scene. There were only a few couples during my (wed-fri) stay so it was very quiet and calm. Casa en el agua is across the water you can hear them sometimes. Also, the doggies are calm and they let you pet them :) The beds are extra firm - the ac works - the water comes out room temp (it's sitting in those huge tanks warmed by the sun) but who showers on vacation lol jk. I didn't get bit by mosquitoes (but I rarely do) If i went back I'd pack a speaker, and music that i don't have to stream (wifi issues) card games or a book (not a device since electricity is limited to the lunch kiosk) The staff is awesome, they serve your meals and clean up after you, they are attentive and helpful. Not many of them, so I'm appreciative of how much work they all put in and how well the property is run.

Do not expect luxury in the classical sense. Expect the luxury of a fantastic view from your room and the common facilities, a staff that will do everything for you and exceptional food. If you want to relax on the isles, you might just do it in the hotel where you have sunbeds, hammocks and armchairs with direct view onto the sea. Kayaks and snorkeling equipments can be used for free. Since the hotel is located in the sea, the facilities are rather simple but everything is clean and well maintained. You can also book tours directly in the hotel. Loved it, would anytime go back!

Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. It is not a place to explore the surroundings, have long hikes, or party

Long and expensive trip to an overcrowded island.

Long and expensive trip to an overcrowded island. There is one good beach near the boat jetty only and it is overcrowded by daytrippers. All other beaches near the hotels full of corals and stones. Don't go three. Food bad.

It was a 2 hour boat ride from Cartagena. But once you arrive it’s an interesting island worth staying at for two nights. The snorkeling, fishing and beaches are great. It’s incredibly humid and that really the only big drawback. The only way to get around is by boat, but it’s part of the adventure. We also loved swimming with the plankton at night.

The privacy was peaceful; the staff at our "home" was friendly and attentive. Being able to use kayaks, paddleboards, floating chairs on our private strip of beach was priceless. During the day, the public beach was alive with tourists and local food merchants for a great taste of island life, but for the most part, everyone packed up and went home across the water after 3pm or so. Our beach was always private and more than roomy enough to be "alone" OR socialize with the other guests at our "home" - we made some new friends and enjoyed some meals together.

Against my better judgement (because I want to keep this hidden gem to myself...) I highly recommend visiting. I do recommend knowing some Spanish if you go to make things smoother but the journey was relatively easy and hassle free.
