Quietly set in the traditional Alona Village in Cyprus, To Apokentro consists of two restored, stone-built traditional houses. Limassol is 25 mi away. We arrive in winter time, the host is a super welcoming and very nice, he waited for us in the entrance to welcome us and also to say goodbye afterwards. The place is equiped with everything you can possibly need for cooking and hosting. The place design is brilliant, everything was super clean. The view is AMAZING, everything was just perfect and much more. We came on a birthday and the host made us a present home made birthday cake, we were left out without words, the cake was delicious and the gesture was very heartwarming! We enjoyed every moment and will be back for sure. P.s. The location is half an hour from Trodos mountains and there is allot of snow in that area during January.
Its a very small village, old and quiet. Didnt see any people. As a village it doesnt really provide you with anything but just the view of the location.. would suggest to drive around to other villages if you are staying in Askas.
Easy access to Askas village.. the mansion is next to the riverside full of beautiful view of the mountains right outside of the mansion balcony.... The scenery is just perfect for a relaxing stay away from the city's noise.. Bedroom was great a huge bed and soft pillows, central heating all over the house, clean bathroom with soft towels hot water at any time....kitchen equipped with breakfast necessities..milk, corn flakes tea coffee honey toast etc... Everything was perfect...couldn't ask for more.... Many thanks to Christos and Mrs Panagiota the owners of the place for their great hospitality..we are visiting the place hopefully soon....
Large room with a balcony that had incredible views over looking the village and surrounding hills. St John the Baptist church with incredible Fresco paintings. The church members were very friendly, sadly more than the priest A visit to Agros in May is a must for picking Roses at the Rose factory.
Idyllic village setting. Perfect! We had breakfast at Lyhnos in the village. As with Evgenia's House, it was restored to its original specifications using stone and local wood.Very impressive surroundings. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend Askas for a long stay for a writer or any others who want some quiet time.
Askas is part of a number of lovely small villages closely linked and belonging to Troodos area which apart from its natural beauty is scattered with more that 50 small churches, many of which are dating back to Byzantine times! So nature, culture and the great local hospitality (the omelette with fried potatoes we ate in a close-by village will remain unforgettable) make Askas and Troodos a must visit place of Cyprus.
Big distance from Limassol, travellers shall take Nicosia-Askas way...from Limassol road is difficult especially at night. You have to go up all over the mountain and then again descending.Askas is a very nice small traditional village
