United KingdomCan't fault it at all. Lovely place. Really impressed! Was just me and my dog, paid an additional £15 on arrival for the dog which was expected. Staff very helpful and friendly, room was clean and worth the money paid. Ate in the restaurant and food was good value and lovely for the price. Good location, about a 5-10 min walk to the lake. Shops and other food places within 5 min walk.

We have known Bala for many, many, years staying and passing...
We have known Bala for many, many, years staying and passing through but the lack of Bala and Dolgellau signs really surpised us. It is too easy to pass through and miss it. The shops are good cafes are also good. You need to advertise more and tell others.
We have camped Caneoed walked. and a lady up the road put me up for two nights. when I couldn't find accomodation. for myself 3 years ago. and didn't know me before, It was quite wonderful.

The lake and surrounding area are stunning.
The lake and surrounding area are stunning. There were good pubs to eat at that were reasonably priced and provided tasty food. Lots of great places to visit nearby especially when travelling with dogs as everywhere is so dog friendly. The high street is looking a bit tired but we’d gone to Bala to enjoy the lovely walking opportunities with our dog so that didn’t bother us. Enjoyed our 4 day break there.

Bala is a great base for exploring North Wales and Eryri...
Bala is a great base for exploring North Wales and Eryri National Park. Most of the places that are likely to be on your itinerary, including mountains, castles, waterfalls, beaches and Zip World locations to name just a few, are within 1 to 1.5 hours drive from Bala. Don't be put off if this sounds like too much driving as this scenic small town is well worth coming back to at the end of the day, not only for its tranquility but also its amenities. Bala has plenty of shops including a CoOp and Spar that will keep you stocked up, there are also bakeries, green grocers, pubs and a petrol station. You can also make a day of it in Bala itself as it has a large lake offering water sports and scenic walks with a backdrop of the picturesque landscape.

Bala is a small town but has everything you need.
Bala is a small town but has everything you need. The butcher next door. OMG soooo good. We traveled a lot to see as much as we could, but Bala was quite good centre for most of our journeys. The lake in Bala provides nice walk around so if you have enough of travels you have something to do in the town.
We went to Snowdon, then we visited 4 different castles, then we went to sea side. OMG we went to Tywyn and it was such an amazing surprise. Sandy beach which you can walk for kilometres, the sea was very warm and it was very quiet. Loved that beach.
On the way to London we stopped at Llangollen Canal to see the viaduct and it is very interesting engineering and lovely place to go.
The weather was absolutely perfect. max 22 but sunny. not even one day of rain. We were very lucky.
If you fancy big food supermarkets like Sainsbury, Lidl - that could be challenge, but think about it before you plan the journey for the day as they are around, but from Bala quite far. In Bala is Coop and Spar.
I'm already thinking about us going back next summer. We spend 6 days in total and it was not enough. next time we will start our journey from south of Wales and then up to North.
For tips where to go I followed few people on FB and Instagram. Very good help to set the journey up.

I loved the location, so much to do, incredible walks, cycle...
I loved the location, so much to do, incredible walks, cycle rides, friendly people, lovely host. Enjoyed seeing the RAF jets flying over the lake. Visited Porthmieron superb. Bala town is close by with several places to eat. Fantastic place to stay with fabulous view, lots of wildlife very relaxing.

Bala is a small welsh town, near to snowdonia national park and towns such as Dolgellau and Llangollen. Theres a lovely lake, sports centre with pool and a finish style suana nearby. The national whitewater centre is just up the road. Thers two reasoanble sized suopermarkets, lots of local walks including some along the river.

Rooms were great for me and the kids, we had one of the upper floor rooms. Decor was nice and everything was clean and tidy. Dinner was nice put grub, good atmosphere and the kids enjoyed it. Breakfast had a good selection and quick service. Bala is a good gateway to North and West Wales, town has plenty to see and do, the lake is 10 mins walk with kids. Room has a passkey and so does the front door which makes things easier. Great shower in room 7!

What a magical place, so quiet and relaxing. It provides everything you need and is stylishly decorated.
The bed was really comfy, and there was lots of hot water.
It's situated close to Lake Bala and all its bars, restaurants, and shops. A fabulous location to explore north Wales and all her beauty.
The owner was so helpful and kind. I can not sing her praises enough.
We will definitely return to this enchanting little place.

The place is very quiet and the room large enough to accommodate a wheelchair easily. There is a microwave and a small fridge as well as equipment to have a meal if you don't want to go to Bala. The people are very friendly and helpful.
Because of its location, there is a lots of places to visit within an hour or two.
