Located in Bala and surrounded by greenery, White Lion Royal Hotel dates back to the 16th century and offers accommodations with on-site parking free of charge 9.3 mi from the heart of the Gwydyr... Great location right on the high street. Tom was brilliant when there was a problem with hot water in our room, he went above and beyond to try and help the situation. Good breakfast too would definitely come back.
On the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Palé Hall 5 red star Relais Chateaux property set in a Victorian manor house hotel with 18 elegant rooms in the main building and 4 garden suites. Excellent servlce, dinner, it was a wonderful experience for us. We enjoyed the house and like the decoration
Located in Bala, The Bryntirion Inn features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The owners were very helpful in small details and the room, though small (like all rooms in these old establishments), was clean and comfortable. Food was great. They seemed to honestly care about making our trip a success.
Glyn Mawr is located in Bala. The accommodations is 25 mi from Barmouth, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Very clean and was perfect for a family of 8. It had more than everything within the property and the kitchen was well kept and equipped. The sunrise and sunset in the day was fabulous to see from this property, we all enjoyed the stay very much
Set in Bala, Ty'r Afon - River Cottage offers self-catering accommodations with free WiFi. The property features views of the river and is 28 mi from Llandudno. Nice cottage ideally located with a car charger, garden with BBQ and chicken which we got fresh eggs every morning from. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. The place was clean, modern and comfy. It had everything we needed.
Bala buzzes up until 8.30pm and then most the restaurants close (to start a takeout service for campers). Make sure you book an evening cooked meal in advance, otherwise you may end up having to buy a bottle of wine and sandwich from the local Spar store.
Bala is a great place to stay as a base for days out in Snowdonia/North Wales. There are many hostelries and a great little bistro in the town so no need to travel too far for a meal out. We ate at Plas Coch Hotel, White Lion Royal Hotel and Cyfnod Cafe Bistro - all in Bala, and at Yr Eagles at Llanwuchllyn which is at the far end of the Bala Lake. All had good menu's and were well priced - excellent value for money. Beautiful countryside nearby to explore and a huge lake for watersports.
Lake was a joy - but time only to stop and stare. The town is plainly shaken by alterations in retailing and a clear shadow of its former role. Many voids and charity outlets but with energy locally this could be altered I hope.
Bala lake is amazing and a beautiful place. The local area is unwelcoming to English and has a historical beef over a village being turned into a reservoir and flooded about 100 years ago to feed liverpool we later found out. Limited restaurants and its stuck in the past as a place to live. Local people don't want the tourism that it attracts is the vibe given off. We have what could be termed as "Valley Boys" trying intimidate us in a restaurant. Quite funny really 50 year olds and 20 year olds in a group of 4 leering over your Mrs and switching in and out of languages to slag you off for literally no reason. Wouldnt last two minutes in the real world. It could be amazing but id spend no more than 4 hours if I went again to the lake and better off Staying in Betws y Coed which is much nicer and more welcoming.
beautiful town, scenic location and attrations, great day out at the lake (when we found the water sport centre) signpost directed us to the dam and miniature railway which was a good walk in the opposite direction. ended up driving and pay parking when we could have walked 880 yards having known. tourist information is lacking
Bala lovely little place . Found another hotel to eat in and meal was excellent. Obviously these are strange and difficult times for everyone and all staff coped very well and adhered to covid rules .
We love decoration inside which are very lovely. There are 4 pony at cottage back which not far away to walk and they are very friendly. We bought 4 carrot bags to feed them. We also love 2 Siberian husky who are very active and friendly. The game room is very nice for our family to enjoy fun competition. Thank you so much. It was a wonderful place to relax and stay.
