Set in secluded 20-acre grounds, the Roman Camp Country House Hotel is set on the banks of River Teith in scenic Callander Village. Loved EVERYTHING, The ease of check in, very easy to park the car, the 20 acres of gardens and lawns were so beautiful and thankfully we’re free from signs posted what is allowed/not allowed as is the case at too many hotels. The beautiful river flowing just below the lodge makes it so special. In the afternoon we took an ice bucket with a bottle of wine and 2 glasses down to the river and painted with our watercolors. However, the absolute best thing was the pre-fixed dinner. I live in Paris and I honestly have never had a dinner as wonderful as the one we enjoyed at Rome in Camp Hotel. Kudos to the chef, it was just incredibly delicious and so beautiful.

Good base for touring the Trossachs. Good range of restaurants and pubs in the locality. Good fresh air. Amazing loch views nearby. Vennachar Lochside Restaurant excellent. Good Bar food in George Hotel on Main Street.
Good high street of mixed shops and plenty of cafes and places to eat. Found lovely walk along riverside. Only stayed one night but could of stayed a bit longer. Enjoyed good meal at the crown hotel. The auld forge guest house where we stayed was exceptional. Immaculate clean and bright room. And wonderful breakfast
Friendly people, variety of shops, lovely lawn bowls club which we messaged and joined for a game with the lovely local team. Shame some shops close early, pubs etc and restaurants close by 9 or 10pm. Some closed Wednesday's due to staff shortages at present or half day Wednesday tradition. Helpful , friendly people in town and Strathyre close by.
Picturesque and interesting town with plenty of nice walks for a weekend away. Would highly recommend the toy shop / museum and the all year round Christmas shop - The Nutcracker. The old fudge shop and local craft shop were also great. The takeaway places were surprisingly good too (Bruno's and The Tasty Fry at least).
A beautiful place. It is only a small but there is plenty to do. There's so much to do and so much to see with the beautiful countryside surrounding Callander. We are hoping to return next year as there is so much more we would like to see.
Great wee place to spend a few hours or base yourself and explore the surrounding area. Loads of lovely walks around Callander itself and so very much more within a short drive, hills, mountains, forests and lochs. The choice of places to eat on a Monday evening was limited and didn’t really showcase the amazing Scottish produce. The main road is super busy with traffic from very early morning, including HGV’s, which is a real pity as it’s a lovely main road with lots of wee shops but noisy from the traffic. However, the river that runs just behind and parallel to the main road provides a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.
Charming hotel in the centre of Callander, surrounded by stunning scenery and walls. Excellent breakfasts. Only serving evening meals at weekends at present but their sister hotel across the road makes up for that. One of the guests managed to leave their bathroom tap running and flood the room below in the middle of the night, but the wonderful way the hotel handled it meant we all ended up friends with each other and were treated to a free dinner as well as having an excellent story to dine out on 😀

From the opening of the front door to welcome us to saying goodbye we felt like royalty. We stayed in room “5”. It was fabulous. Dina, and her wonderful smile, made our stay in Callander great. The optional breakfast is a must do. You are also given the opportunity to have a “to go” lunch for 6 1/2 pounds that is well worth it. We ate our “to go” lunch on the way to Skye. Folks this will exceed your expectations.

Deon was super friendly and very helpful with regards to local knowledge suggesting places for eating and walks. We had a twin room at top with its own wee lounge bit. The bathroom was clean and very modern. We had a lively view from our room and breakfast area. We were right in the centre of Callander just up a street but it meant it was quiet at night without the main road traffic.

This is a special place in every way. Beautiful property. Terrific food and helpful staff. I went with a friend who also loved it. Be certain to walk inside as well as outside the hotel. The interior decoration is otherwise outstanding. This would be a lovely spot for a mid-size spring or summer wedding.
the crown hotel is hard to fault our room was spotless, the food was really good as was the breakfast the room was nice and snug on a cold November night its not las vegas when it comes to entertainment but there is always something on a Saturday night and their prices are fair it's hard to knock.

The staff at Southfork was very friendly at check-in, breakfast and leaving. They all gave us good ideas on where to eat and what do to in the area. The room we stayed in and the house are very cute and it was right off of the main road with all the shops.

we were staying over while we attended a wedding in the area and the property was ideal for that. the property is more a mini hotel than a guest house, but still retains the charm of a b&b
