Corsham
Located in the heart of picturesque Corsham, Wiltshire, The Methuen Arms is a stunning Georgian coaching inn, offering 19 newly renovated, stylish bedrooms, award-winning food and delicious Butcombe... The hotel was very welcoming and comfortable, and staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. It is obvious that they use only the very best quality food and ingredients. The croissant at breakfast were the best we have tasted, better even than in France. We were there for "Burger Night", a great idea and excellent take on an old classic.

Located in the historic town of Corsham, with the Gothic house of Corsham Court and its Capability Brown landscaped park within a 2-minute walk, Heavenly Retreat offers accommodations with free WiFi. We hadn't realised that the room was not "en-suite". But, we were the only guests, so the bathroom, which was only 2 doors down from our room, was just for ourselves. Mimi and Mike were very friendly and the continental breakfast was delicious, with home made products (the home made banana bread was a delight).

Set in Corsham in the Wiltshire region, Quirky Cottage - Dogs Welcome - Free 24 hr Cancellation's features a patio and garden views. The cottage is beautiful, well maintained and very clean. We booked a last minute stay over Christmas and the house was decorated for our arrival. The owners are very easy to communicate with. We have loved our stay.
Beautiful town, we used it as a base for our 2 night stay and walked around the town in the evening so no shops were open so can’t comment on those but it was very clean and had lovely character, met one of the peacocks. We ate in the Indian restaurant (think it was called the moonlight lounge) which was very nice. Would have liked to have had the time to spend more time in the town but too many other places to see in the area.
Corsham is a lovely pretty small town with a couple of peacocks strutting around. Unfortunately, because of covid, we think it was less busy that it would have been. There are not lots of shops; just a few to poke about in. There are plenty of places to buy food for an apartment. There are various places to eat of various levels and a particularly lovely place called the Methuen Arms. Corsham is near to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. We enjoyed Corsham very much although we used it mainly as a base.
Although we arrived on a wet Sunday we really enjoyed our stay . We enjoyed a great pizza , salad and wine in Mother & Wild in the evening and had a drink in the quirky Flemish Weaver as well. A great base for exploring . Will look round Corsham Court and the shops in Corsham next time .
It was a birthday weekend celebration. Whenever i go away for city breaks or holiday abroad, i generally look up the area before going. We visited the Corsham Court and Almhouses. Also saw the folly.Other villages we went to were Castle Combe,Braford Upon Avon,Lacock but drove through Melksham but thought it was too modern. Saw peacock walking through the town centre and a few more in the court. We had an indian takeway and a meal at Mother and Wild. Also we had coffee and cake there that day. Food in the abbey was enjoyable. Previous shop/cafe reminded me of a shop in South Wales where i was brought up. Lovely cakes there. Pear and olive oil was very nice and unusal. The Fleamish Weaver pub was very unusual but you have to book in advance as we could not get in Friday or Saturday for evening meal. We just had a drink on Thursday evening.Love the coloured buildings of the cotswolds. Thought the little honesty boxes in Lacock were quite. Also visited the oldest holiday cottage whilst there 560 years old. We also had lovely choc orange cake and granola cake at the cafe/antique shop in Lacock.
Laycock not far away for "old world charm". Plenty of choice for walking in the surrounding area. Good choice of restaurants in Corsham to suit most people's preferences. Corsham is easy to explore on foot.
As a restaurant this would be perfect but as a hotel it falls way short of expectations. Outdated, shower leaked, no hot water for the bath, spider webbs and dust throughout and that's just what we noticed. Staff weren't great and were preoccupied at all times. Far too expensive for what you get and had better had a budget hotel. The only upside I'd that food was very good but breakfast costs extra should you go for the full English option. Overall very dissatisfied and disappointed
