Absolutely loved our stay! The accommodation was beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable. The food was top-notch, and the bar was a real highlight—especially the whiskey selection, which is second to none. The village is charming and perfectly located for exploring the Highlands. Clearly Dornoch is a mecca for golfers but it also has a wonderful beach, lovely shops and good restaurants. There are plenty of local walks and and Scottish heritage to explore. Dornoch is a lovely town with good mix of shops and eating places, great wee museum too with a tonne of history to marvel at. Beaches are stunning. You can walk for miles and only pass a few folk even during the peak summer period. I missed local artists and their ware, I'm sure there must of been some somewhere but the shops had a great variety of lovely stuff you can easily loose your money too.Guest review byAnderson - 8.0

The town itself is clean, and was very busy in the early part of the season. We loved the setting by the sea and were blessed with perfect weather. The cathedral is directly opposite the Dornoch Castle Hotel and you are free to spend as long as you like in its peaceful tranquillity with no fee to enter, unlike many commercialised cathedrals in England. It is quite a short drive up the coast to the spectacular Dunrobin Castle with its formal gardens and dramatic setting.
