In the heart of Dunwich, this traditional inn offers home-cooked food and real ales. There is free private parking, and the beach is a brief walk from The Ship. Setting was lovely....peaceful and relaxing. Staff were very friendly, breakfast cooked to order, room (middlegate) exceptional, a lovely experience
Located in Westleton, 2.3 miles from RSPB Minsmere, Mulleys Cottage (Bed and Breakfast) offer free WiFi access and onsite parking. We had a friendly greeting from Madeline, were shown to our accommodation which was close, but separate, to the house, asked what time and what we would like for breakfast and left to settle in which was really nice. When you are tired that's what you need.
The Apple Loft is located in Westleton. The accommodations is 9.3 mi from Aldeburgh, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Wonderful location in a beautiful part of the world. The accommodation was extremely well fitted and comfortable.
Midway between Southwold and Aldeburgh, this modernized, rustic inn has an excellent restaurant and refurbished, stylish rooms. It is an ideal base for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Warm welcome, charmingly decorated, comfortable rooms, delicious food, great breakfast, excellent service.
The beach is fantastic for walking in both directions. There are circular walks for those who are fit. Beach never appears to have rubbish and dog friendly. Dunwich a very small village with really just the Ship Inn and the museum. In the summers months there is a cafe on the beach. Car parking at the beach is free so a real bonus.
Great walking and scenery. Got lost for a short while on the Sandlings forest walk but found my way back. There's really nothing to do but visit the pub, a small museum, a church and the beach but that was enough for me.
Beautiful coastline, atmospheric and almost-deserted beach (in winter anyway) - walks around the village are varied (forest, marsh, coast) - if you know what to expect (bleak seclusion basically), it's perfect. The Ship Inn is a great place to stay & eat, and the museum is well worth a visit.
I liked the Tranquillity and NO PEOPLE on the sea shore and beach at 8.30 am this morning so I could just enjoy, watching a Marsh Harrier flying overhead, and Egrets. Not a Car in the Beach Car Park which during the day is Full up.. The Ship is truly a great place to stay.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Ship-weather helped as the countryside and beaches are lovely around this area of Suffolk. Ate in the hotel restaurant both nights of our stay and enjoyed both meals, also breakfast’s very tasty. Room very comfortable and quaint. Will definitely be returning!
As before - food was good. But had to queue a long time in the bar after dinner for a bedtime drink. £10 for water and glass of wine. Booked late so didn't get the best room. Very noisy until late as people talking in the courtyard could be heard clearly from our room.
