Apartment was ideally located on the seafront with plenty of on street parking although this was limited to 4 hours out of season. Nearby street no restrictions Herne Bay pier was a real surprise even though it was early October there was still plenty to do with amusements, refreshments (Beer on the Pier and Caribbean food both recommended) and retail opportunities Herne Bay town has everything you need - supermarkets, take ways, retail - although it could do with a bit of tlc Promenade walks all the way to Whitstable and Margate was a bonus - suitable for any walkers, push chairs, cyclists

Fantastic typical English seaside holiday. Beware of seafront prices . Was brilliant to get out of London and breathe the wonderful air. You can walk to Whitstable along the seafront in an hour and half. Lots of history in Herne Bay .Some lovely little craft stalls in beach huts. Divers arms is a proper old English pub with amazing friendly locals. The Four Fathoms is just a 8-10 minute walk from the front up Station Road is the best for food.

Herne Bay is a nice coastal town but it's not much to do except walks along the beach and a sea bath, weather permitting and after the high tide The beach is with pebbles, so you need special shoes. A local restaurant A la Turka serves very good Turkish food.

Plenty of walks along the sea front, where there are many colourful beach huts, and out to the pier. There is a nice Memorial Park with lake and plenty of wildlife. Reculver A few miles along the coast has some interesting ruins and spectacular views and great walks and cycle routes. Nearby Whitstable and Canterbury are worth day trips.

This was my first proper visit to Herne Bay to see a friend. It was very pleasant the weather was kind to us and overall the sea front was very clean and tidy. The beach is very Stoney so not necessarily the best for sun bathing but if you don't mind that then it is very good.

The town is tired and shabby in places, although new properties are being built and old ones refurbished and developed, there are several boarded up and abandoned places along the front which spoils the area. There is abundant parking, both long and short stay. The shingle beach is clean and you can walk the full length of the wall; plenty of benches and seating along the way. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars for all tastes and budgets.

Went on a cycle trip and stayed at this hotel the host was lovely, kept messaging me to ensure we were OK and estimate the time of arrival. The host was so kind and caring, shame to see for sale sign outside. Had a lovely stay and would stay there again!
