Located in Kirk Yetholm, The Border Hotel has a restaurant, bar, shared lounge, and free WiFi. Everything, the staff, the hotel atmosphere, the food......absolutely fabulous. Everyone was so friendly and exceedingly helpful.... first time we’ve been out overnight for over a year.... it was worth it...thank you to all the staff who accommodated us and our dog...you made our visit an absolute joy.
Set in Kirk Yetholm in the Borders region, Mill House offers accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. A wonderful place to stay at the end of our Pennine Way walk. Lovely room and bathroom. Very nice breakfast and really friendly staff. Beautiful views of the hills from our room.
In the center of picturesque Yetholm, the Plough offers comfortable accommodations and a charming pub atmosphere. The Scottish/English border is just one mile away. This is a gem, a perfect place to stay, amidst stunning countryside. The hostess, Sandi, was absolutely super, extending a very warm Scottish welcome. The room was just lovely, extremely spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The chef is exceptional and the food throughout our three night stay was simply superb! Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours were delicious - special mention for the quality of the fish and also the speciality Creme Brûlée. The restaurant staff were really friendly and helpful both in the evenings and at breakfast - we would definitely stay again and recommend The Plough highly!
Located in Morebattle 6 miles from Kelso on the St Cuthbert's Way trail, Templehall Hotel features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms have a TV. The hotel is a charming period property, beautifully maintained, stylish and very comfortable. Lovely specious dining room and seriously good food with a sensible price tag. Also like the fact that dogs are allowed in both the bedrooms and the public areas. We will be back.
Offering free WiFi and mountain views, No 3 New Buildings is an accommodations located in Kelso. The property features garden views and is 25 mi from Lindisfarne. Beautiful village with local shop. The surrounding area is great for walks and taking in the absolutely fantastic scenery. The apartment is beautiful and very clean. The host had provided a lovely welcome basket . There is a washer and drier and is both comfortable and functional. There is also an area to sit and relax out in the garden. Would recommend to anyone.
It was nice to spend time in a village again, and just do whatever we wanted without rushing anywhere. The driving was easy and the area was beautiful, we were particularly interested in the farming. We ate in our hotel each evening.
The trip was arranged to meet our son, who lives in Derbyshire, during his walk along Cuthbert's way. We had never been in that part of Scotland previously and intend to return and spend more time in the area.
Kirk Yetholm was off the beaten track, but the endpoint for the Pennine Way and on the St Cuthbert's Walk makes it an ideal location for walking in scenic country. It's quite easy to get to other villages and towns in the Border Country and Northumberland, so made a good base for sightseeing via car. The local Border Inn served great food and drinks, as too did The Plough Inn in nearby Town Yetholm. Apart from the pubs there aren't too many facilities, so a trip to Kelso, 8 miles away for supermarket shopping is advisable.
The 2 villages are at the edge of the Cheviots with lovely views and a pub 5 mins walk away, it was just lovely. Be prepared for a Bit of a drive, but it's def worth it and the pub food was lovely
Beautiful tranquil village in the Borders of Scotland. Lovely for walking , good pub in village with accommodation , great for walking. Highly recommend a visit to the area. Very quiet , blissfully so. Not for those looking for hustle and bustle but great to unwind.
Stunning location. Central for many tourist attractions, cycling, Penine Way and nature walks. Lovely, comfortable rooms with pretty flower arrangements and tasteful decoration. Spotless and welcoming
Beautiful room, new and spacious with lovely en-suite. Amazing views across fields. Relaxing and comfortable bed so great night's sleep. Breakfast ingredients excellent quality. Delivered to our room (due to covid rules) but that was fine as we ate on our balcony and enjoyed watching rabbits and other wildlife. Pub in village (Border Hotel) did great evening meals (recommend booking this in advance) Relaxing stay at Mill House. We hope to return.
Loved the location, outlooks and local walks. The nearby Border Hotel/pub was excellent for food. Loved the character and history of the cottage! Welcome gifts of wine and shortbread were appreciated as was the complimentary whisky. Made good use of the Now TV facilties in the evenings. Weather was too warm to justify use of the woodburner, but imagine this would be great for cosy nights in winter!
Its a very nice old hotel in a picturesque village. The room was large and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and very accomodating with any requests you have. The breakfast was excellent and lovely selection available. The hotel was able to store my rucksack and forward to my next location as I was participating in a 4 day hike across the Cheviot Hills, this was really helpful.
The hotel had character and the location was excellent. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast.
