Located in the market town of Melbourne in South Derbyshire, this boutique hotel has a stylish bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Castle Donington is a 15-minute drive away. I booked via the booking.com app just an hour earlier for its location halfway to home and found everything was waiting for me. Melbourne itself is a large village/small town that was quiet but was the home of Lord Melbourne the founder of the Australian city. Sadly I hadn't time to fully tour it. The room itself overlooked the street with a good bus service. It was very clean, full attention to details, lovely bathroom and tea making facilities, and a comfortable bed. Evening meal was beautiful, and a bar was stocked with local ales. Breakfast was not included but that allowed you order what you wanted from a great choice.

Lovely location, apartment was fully equipped with everything you would expect. Modern, decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean throughout.

75 High Street in Melbourne provides accommodations with free WiFi, 2.9 miles from Donington Park, a 9-minute walk from Melbourne Hall and 3 miles from Donington Grand Prix Collection. Immaculately presented, cosy cottage, with plenty of home comforts, just a few minutes walk from Melbourne town centre. Wish we could have stayed longer; a return visit very likely! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
an absolutely beautiful, clean, friendly, efficient hotel, I am going back for a longer solo stay - I felt safe, was able to get to places if needed, just perfect for a retreat, base to explore or for special events (at the hotel & locally).
Only visited briefly as attending Donington Historic Festival all weekend. Lovely quaint, historical, picturesque village with good amenities. Many food option, old pubs with great beer, a Halk and gardens. And all this within three minutes drive.
This is a delightful little town. I went specifically to visit Melbourne House gardens which were nice enough in themselves but had no idea that they would in a town centre that is cram packed with interesting buildings of varying styles, many down inviting alleys. I thought that the parish church spectacular. The town had interesting craft and gift shops and I found a good selection of reasonably priced artwork and pottery at the Creative Arts Centre. The town is also good on food with plenty of places to eat and drink , including a deli and cake eating opportunities. I recommend the Cake House for their imaginative cakes and scones. And there is a network of paths into the surrounding countryside to walk it off.
Small town with some lovely features. Walks around the very large Melbourne Pool are delightful. There are a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a craft center. The only minor irritant is that East Midlands airport is close by and the town is under the flight path. As they also fly throughout the night it can be noisy at times but I expect you get used to it.
Melbourne is a small town/big village that appears average with not to see, but there are some pretty churches and cottages. The real find is the ancestral home of Lord Melbourne, which includes specialist workshops and antique shops, as well as the house and garden itself.
Melbourne House is worth a visit. We ate at Zeerah, very nice food. We had cocktails and Tapas at Amalfi White, good atmosphere, lovely cocktails and tasty food. We ate at Harpur's, great service, lovely food, great night. Lovely High Street with pretty shops and cafes. Easy to get around.
I booked this hotel for my boyfriend for a work trip, he loved every minute. On arrival the owner was exceptionally welcoming and chatty, telling him everything I needed to know about the location. The property was in a beautiful town with local shops and pubs. There was also a lovely walk around a river very close by. With a spacious, clean and comfortable room. This hotel was amazing value for money and We would definitely return together next time.
This property was amazing better than I expected as I haven’t ever been to Melbourne. It is such a perfect little place for a short break with beautiful local features and walks. The outhouse is a perfect size, with great facilities and located in a quiet and small area which made it feel safe and secure. The stay was comfy and enjoyable! We will definitely be back!
Great location for me (close to the race circuit). A well equipped small apartment that was nicely priced and made for a really enjoyable stay. Thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Donington Park as an alternative to a small hotel room!
Melbourne as a place exceeded our expectations, lovely streets, shops and bars. The hotel was in a very good central position and had a nice roof terrace. The staff were very friendly and made us welcome. Also the Pizzas were very good too.
Customer service is excellent. Trudy and Steve are a great pair and great host. They go extra mile to please customers. Scrumptious breakfast. Melbourne view hotel is located near great amenities. The children Loved it!
Immaculately presented, cosy cottage, with plenty of home comforts, just a few minutes walk from Melbourne town centre. Wish we could have stayed longer; a return visit very likely! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
A warm welcome and a lovely cosy room. comfortable bed and a great night’s sleep. I can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t have it. A short walk into Melbourne and across the road from the church and Melbourne Hall.
