The location to meet both our appointment to view a sealyham puppy and ancient Welsh Yew trees nearby from an equally wonderful building base of substance, imbued with historical character, sitting by the cleanest radiating open fire log burners in all our extensive cottage stays in our experience - is One I will make a note of and always remember for sure 100%...the visiting cats were a welcome too As was Alan who was reassuringly living at the same shared extensive garden grounds who discreetly and promptly checked if all was well on arrival and departure with sensitive respect to our privacy throughout the entire Holi day at the cottage and grounds all the while. Thank You.

Raglan has one of the most impressive castles in the UK, but the little town’s parish Church is also worth a look. The area generally is excellent for walking: just a little further west around Abergavenny are a number of excellent Hill walks.
Ooops, forgot to say in my previous review which is worth a read before this one... The Beaufort has the very best beds we have slept in for many moons!! So comfortable; deep proper mattresses with good quality bed linen. Towels were also good quality, clean, mark free and thick.
We didn't see Raglan town itself but we visited Raglan Castle. It is an interesting example of late medieval castle which used to be a very exquisite place to live. It differs from other medieval castles with mainly defensive function as it shows how representative it used to be.
We liked most the comfort of our room the way it had always been tidied up by the time we came back after a day out the view from our window the choice of breakfast was adequate as was the evening meals and we enjoyed some very pleasant meals in the evenings Roth with some pleasant staff and we never had any problems with the parking
We have passed Ragaln castle many times and never stopped. We treated outselves to a weekend and toured Usk, Raglan and Monmouth. Raglan is a superb castle, although a ruin, it has a fabulous history and there is enough of the building left to imagine how it worked. The interpretation was very good.
Lovely setting, historic building. Very helpful and pleasant hotel host. Room very small but comfortable. Excellent food, but no real vegetarian/vegan options other than salad. Safe off-street parking.
Raglan
The room was beautiful, exceptional attention to detail! Will definitely be returning. The recommendations for evening meals did not disappoint.
