This was a gem of a place. We arrived after a long day of cycling and were quite tired and hungry. The setting was in a the quaint village of Union Hill and unfortunately the local pubs were not open for that day. Julie, the host, drove us to a nearby town for dinner, and picked us afterwards. She was also so kind as to throw our bike clothing into the wash. Her breakfast was fabulous with a great selection of items.

Loved the historical building and location, as well as the preservation of so much history. Enjoyed the grounds and the sea view. We felt very comfortable with the room size, decor, bed etc. And the breakfast was outstanding.

You can tell Margaret and Jim have a passion for their B&B and guests as soon as you step through the front door. Both are just so warm and welcoming and I so appreciated the care that was put into my experience staying with them. So many highlights - The room had the most amazing view, it was close enough to walk to the beach in the morning, the b&b was spotless, breakfast is delicious and so filling (& gluten free options are available). Thank you Margaret and Jim!

    What a beautiful location.

    What a beautiful location. Near to Drombeg Stone Circle in Glandore, and the beautiful Church of Ireland place of worship there that records the local history of the area. Sit out sipping a dreamy coffee chatting with locals and tourists; and being pleasantly surprised when you note that an hour has passed next time you look at the time on the phone.

    The house was really comfortable for our family wedding in...

    The house was really comfortable for our family wedding in West Cork. We had plenty of space and the house was warm, great wifi. Union Hall is a pretty village and easy to travel to other interesting places. We walked the hill at Three Castles which was a great hike with amazing views and we visited Liss Ard estate which was really lovely. Overall a great place to visit.

    - Very small but in a good way if you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil spot. Very walkable. No tourist shops. 👍 - It has 5 walking/hiking options, varying in length and difficulty, 4 lead to the ocean. - One grocery store. A few coffee shops, and a couple of full scale restaurants. Sunday roast is a traditional meal here. Neighboring GLANDORE, (5 minute drive), has 5-6 options for food and is more lively in the evening. This is where we ate both nights. There’s a cute pub that serves wood-fired pizzas. Indoors has a beamed ceiling and a beautiful, cozy little stone fireplace with a crackling wood fire going. It gets cold enough in the evenings in late June to use it!

    Union Hall is small, affluent and safe. Perfect for a weekend break easy and picturesque drive from Cork Airport. Easy walking distance to many places of natural beauty and there is a working fishing pier situated in the village. Pubs, with exceptional friendly service and good quality local produce, are excellent . Can walk there. There is a well stocked local Centra supermarket which sells essentials such as wine, hotly prepared food and coffee to go. Glandore is about 2 miles away around the bay, Easy to get to Schull, Clonakilty, Mizen Head as well as Beara Peninsula. Kinsale is a about 45 mins drive. Perfect stop for seeing the beauty West Cork

    Union Hall is a gem.

    Union Hall is a gem. Outstandingly beautiful location and a lovey holiday destination. All the main attractions of West Cork are easily accessed while the village pub/restaurants (2), are very good.The Dock Wall in particular was excellent while Hayes's across the estuary in Glandore was outstanding.

    It is a stunningly beautiful little village and one of Ireland best kept secrets. Off season was perfect to see it and had some delicious food there . Very close to other really beautiful coastal villages too but will definitely go back to spend more time in Union Hall as we found it a particularly charming village in gorgeous west cork

    Lis-Ardagh Lodge was a perfect little stopover for us at the end of our tour around Dingle,The Ring of Kerry and County Cork. Carol and Jim were so welcoming and their accommodation immaculate. A short walk from the quiet village of Union Hall where you will find a couple of good pubs to have dinner. Carol served a delicious breakfast in the morning before we set off on our journey home. Would highly recommend a stay here where there are also self catering cottages available.

    Breakfast was not included in the booking as it was a house booking for 11 days. The location was extremely good because I could walk to Dinty's for lunch and the Centra store for some shopping. I have stayed in and around Union Hall for years and like the area very much. The garden was a great size for my dog and was secluded and a nice place to sit when the weather was good

    The village of Union Hall has a spectacular location and is a great base for exploring West Cork. Lovely sea view from our room, which was very comfortable, clean, and bright. Nice continental breakfast in the morning with a welcome pot of coffee. Very kind and helpful hostess who gave us great tips to explore the local area.
