Hotel in Scala
Located in Scala, 1.7 miles from Marina Grande Beach, HOTEL ZI'NTONIO has accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a bar. Staff was very welcoming and ready to help with any questions you might have. Our room was spacious with big terrace and stunning view of Ravello. Scala is perfect starting point in exploring Amalfi coast in our opinion. You are located exactly in the middle, but in quite town, away from the crowd and with refreshing forest air. Also, everything was sparkling clean and breakfast was just great with fresh vegetables from local garden.

Our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The property has amazing views and a fabulous pool where you can order a spritz. Scala is a lovely quiet spot with epic views across the valley to Ravello and the coastline. The room was comfortable and spacious. It felt private and boutique because it is a small palazzo.

Scala
Featuring a bar and free Wi-Fi, Pinguino B&B is located in Scala, in the Amalfi Coast. Guests can enjoy regional cuisine at the restaurant and breakfast is served daily including homemade cakes. Location, location, location. After visiting 4 other towns on the Amalfi coast, Scala was a refreshing change. I wandered around town, discovered the stairs going down to Amalfi. Scala is not a town that puts on a show for tourists. People work in their terraced gardens, take construction materials down those steps to Amalfi by donkeys. You walk through the winding pedestrian only paths and see people doing hanging out their laundry to dry, carrying their groceries home, real life. Walter, the owner, was very accommodating. He makes a made to order breakfast, talks varos hiking trails.

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village. The shops are very basic but you should be able to get most things if you self-cater. It is easy to get to Ravello by bus (tickets must be purchased in advance from the "card shop"). Ideally you need your own transport as the terrain is very hilly. It is expensive to get to and from the airport by taxi.
Great little town, quite and off the busy Amalfi coast towns with a nice view. Having a car really helped. There was a great restaurant within a 20 minute walk of our B&B. You need to be in good shape to walk around, as very hilly.
Scala is quiet, authentic and charming, with beautiful views of Ravello and the Amalfi coast everywhere you go. There are a few decent café and restaurant options, mostly in the town center. This is a steep mountain village so having a car to go up and down the switchback slopes is highly recommended. Finding parking in the small town center was never an issue, not even in the middle of July.
Scala is a small, unspoilt town with several bars and restaurants on the main road. Further restaurants are dotted through the town, Zio Peppe was a great find up in the hills and Il Pinguino serve great food. Da Pietro snack bar in the town square has great views across the gorge and serves the best Aperol spritz. If you want to explore further there is a great picnic area at Parco Paradiso, hidden high up in the hills, where you can bring your own food to cook on wood burning grills and pizza ovens with nothing but the sound of nature. There is a regular bus service to Ravello and Amalfi and also a walking route down to Amalfi. Parking spaces marked with blue are pay-parking.
Higher up the hill. Little village with view at Ravello and the Amalfi Coast, enjoy living between the locals. Just at walking distance you find Restaurants serve local dishes. We eat at Ristorante Il Pinguino, delicious dishes and pizza. In the morning we took the dog for a walk and met the donkeys in the narrow alleys op hill where you find a beautiful view over the coastline.
Scala is a unique hill town close to Amalfi, accessible by car and bus and close to all the Amalfi coast tourist attractions. It has the added bonus of being much quieter than the busy town of Amalfi which I love but it is nice to relax in this hill town surrounded by lemon groves. There are great local restaurants with the most delicious locally produced food and not overly expensive. The ancient village of Pontone which is in the Scala area and is on the main walking route from Ravello/Scala to Amalfi has a beautiful square with a nice bar where you can eat very well for very little and there are two great restaurants too which are just off the square. Really worth a visit.
1. Room - we were given room with a view to Ravello. Needless to say it is beautiful. Room also had terrace with its own options. 2. Breakfast - each food served was tasty and there were a lot of options to choose from. We had an option to eat in the room. 3. Location - even though hotel is located up the hill from Amalfi, it is a great as it provides with peace and quite compared to the costal city of Amalfi and you now have an option to explore Ravello. 4. Parking spots 5. Personel - communicable, thoughtfull. Needs its own rating.
Scala
Antonio and his family go out of their way to ensure that your stay is fantastic. The location is breathtaking, the rooms are very clean and the pool has the best view in the world. I highly recommend that people eat in the restaurant at least once, Antonio's mum and wife made myself and my friend one of the best meals we had during our stay on the Amalfi Coast......the breakfasts are amazing (the orange cake was delicious). Give the big hotels in the big towns a miss and try this little gem instead....you won't regret it!!!
Ravello
The house is so beautiful and the best we had during our trip. We loved the stay. It is much nicer than you would expect it from the fotos. Each morning we had breakfeast at the wonderful terrace in a garden with citrus trees. The whole house made you feel welcome. The location belongs to scala, but it is so close to Ravello, that you can walk in 15 min to the center of this nice town. It is quiet but close to Amalfi and Positano. Carmela is a great host and did all she could to help, super communication, super house.
Scala
We are already missing the lovely room and terrace. Others have said the photos dont do the place justice and its true. Its clean, freshly painted, nice decor and had everything to make the stay comfortable...including crockery and cutlery for the three of us. The owners were so helpful too. Scala is a lovely village close to Ravello. The bus stop is in the town square and its a short flat walk to the accommodation. Would recommend if you want to be close to Amalfi and Ravello but want to be away from the tourists.
Scala
Great location, beautiful view across to Ravello, big terrace with lots of sun. There is no pool on the property yet, but one is being built soon, and in the meantime guests can use a pool at a hotel next door. Carla and Sasa were very helpful and responsive, even promptly bringing us charcoal and lighters for the barbeque on our terrace when we inquired. The property is beautifully landscaped, with many flowers, vines, lemon trees etc so that it is just a lovely place to be.
Antonella is the best host you can ever have, always cheking on you and very helpful, along with Antonio who is a great cook by the way, his home made pasta with zuchini and the vegetable from the garden is delicious. The appartement is clean and beautiful, calm so you can sleep well and the lemon garden, the sight of the sea and the Mountains surrounding Scala is so relaxing. I highly recommend it and hope to be back soon.
The hosts provided an excellent set of videos that walked us through the process of finding the property from the main road and accessing the lockbox for the keys. Much appreciated. Further, the apartment had a clothes washer, which was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable and there was ample closet space. And the warm shower felt great after a rainy day roaming around Scala and Ravello.
The location, the beautiful hotel with its outstanding furnished rooms and especially the nice people working at Palazzo San Giovanni make it the best place to stay while you are visting the Amalfi Coast. We already recommended the Palazzo to all of our friends and we will definitely come back when visiting Amalfi once again!
Scala
Everything was above expectations! The hotel is secluded and away from the busy tourist towns, but very accessible by public transport. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is superb! The view is breathtaking. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to visit!
Scala
The hotel is located on the mountain and overlooks the city and the sea. The room we were given had a balcony with a spectacular view. There is no lift to the rooms and you have to lift your luggage by hand. ROBERTA helped us with this. Breakfast was rich and tasty
Fantastic apartment and view is super super super good. We had wonderful 3 nights here with family and friend, there are lovely lemons around a us. And also there is one 5 stars hotel with nice food. Hosts prepared fruits and snacks for us, thanks again!
Very comfortable and very clean. Use of pool at sister hotel just up the road was much appreciated. Air con very effective which was appreciated in the heat. Staff are very nice and very helpful. We had Room 8 which was much bigger than 7 next door.
Scala
The best nights stay of our holiday only wish we booked to stay for more time. Cute little place staff were amazing. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. And the little village of scala was very cute. And close to ravello.
Scala
Casa Falcone was perfect in every way. Can also recommend Ristorante Pizzeria Il Pinguino in Scala, for great food, good atmosphere and friendly staff.
