The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites. Hotels and Apartments are plentiful and in every price level. You can choose from so many hikes (all different levels) you can fill 3 weeks. Depending what other locations are on your itinerary, 3 days allow you to see the highlights and get a sense of the beauty of the Dolomites. Yet, it's easy to fill a week. While Selva absolutely lived up to everything we had heard about how spectacular the Dolomites are, we unfortunately had no fresh snow. We'd made a very long trip from Australia to ski and snowboard, so it was disappointing. That said, we had decent cover and loved the long runs and apres venues. The room and breakfast area were very clean. The room has blackout blinds that enabled us to sleep like babies. There was a heater to warm towels or dry clothes in the toilet. The family and friendly atmosphere was perfect. The staff very much went out of their way to make sure we were happy and had everything we need. Breakfast was incredible with many many options and healthy choices. Americans always like more coffee faster, but that would be my only recommendation. The suite was spacious, we enjoyed the private sauna in the balcony every day. Getting into a hot steamy sauna after a day of skiing and watching the snow tractors leaving to fix the slopes while the last late skiers are rushing back home, enjoying the view in the balcony with a glass of beer - that is a feeling second to none.
