A beautiful, relaxed town on the banks of Lake Maggiore. A beautiful promenade along the shore leads into the town centre and lots of restaurants. Stresa was a brilliant place to stay without a car.
Stresa was a brilliant place to stay without a car. We found the s.a.f. shuttlebus from the airport very affordable and efficient and could walk to everywhere that Stresa had to offer or use the many different boat tours to access towns around the lake. The lake views are beautiful, the promenade is full of flowers and the lake is clear, cool and refreshing to swim in, with a number of different access points. Stresa is so beautiful with the wonderful views of Lake Maggiore. I went to Isobela Island as well as took the ferry which stops at several cities along the lake.
