Fosano is a little village in Piedmont; there isn't much to do there but what is great is that it's very well connected to the wine areas (Barolo and Barbaresco) so then you can rent a car and travel around.
Its close to Alba / Bra and all the possible nearby locations such as Barolo and all the rest in Piedmont - great location to be outside of the towns but still close to all ( needs a car of course )
The on-off bus tour in Torino is excellent... but skip line B. Line A and C are fantastic. Line C is the royal palace grounds. I also recommend walking around. You will find so much! Pair this up with a Piedmont card and you'll be good to go! I got into so many museums and castles, it was fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful, world class city with fantastic food scene...wonderful restaurants, enotecas, and cafes with locally sourced, traditional Piedmont cuisine. Great shopping and cultural activities as well. Easy to get around on foot, by bike or public transportation. Wide flat streets make for good walking everywhere. Great art and architecture, parks, outdoor markets, and churches too. Especially liked the Egyptian museum, the church of San Lorenzo, Palazzo Madama, and strolling the many lovely piazzas. Don't miss Mulassano for coffee and tramezzini, as well as Bicerin and Cafe Torino for their historical elegance. Consorzio or Tre Galli both fabulous for dinner.
We visited primarily for the Salone del Gusto and stayed in the old town. Fun city and a great place to start out if you want to explore Piedmonte. Lots of history and some very good food
I ended up in Susa because it's where my great grandparents were from, so it was a bit of a genealogical pilgrimage (and nice to be in a city filled with Rivettis!). The fact that it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and interesting places I've seen in Italy (and I've been all over) was just plain lucky. Susa has seen lots of action over the years because of its strategic location in a valley passage through the Alps between Italy and France. Because of that, it has architectural and cultural treasures from many cultures and all periods, all the way back to Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Savoy dynasty, etc. Beautiful scenery, beautiful ruins, beautiful churches, lots of delicious food, and I just loved the energy of this town: quiet but not boring. Side trips we took included one to Sacra di San Michele, the abbey built into the top of a mountain on which Umberto Eco is said to have based his abbey in The Name of The Rose. It is the symbol of Piedmont and one of my top 5 do not miss sights in all of Italy, We also visited the little town of Mattie (where my family is specifically from). Very fascinating and friendly little village up a winding mountain road. The people in this area are very happy to meet visitors from the United States (doesn't seem like they get many). These are the places you won't hear about when you're planning a vacation to Italy, so I feel like my family history handed me a real gift with these towns. Highly, highly recommend.
The historical centre is small, yet has a clear sight of Roman and Medieval times. There are a lot of churches in the area, all of which have distinctive styles and of course all are beautiful. The town's museum although small, yet has a unique collection of antiquities, excavated items from the town, showing the town history since neolithic period. The underground tour is also recommended for those who love history. On the other hand, Alba (as well as many other towns in Piedmonte) is famous for the wine. Also, it's the capital, the hometown of Nutella, so what do you expect?
Alba is a small town with great restaurants and an excellent base for touring Piedmont hill town so of Barola, La Morra, Trieso, Neive, etc. The town is very walkable with sidewalk cafes on the many squares
Great base for exploring Piedmonte. Just be ready for angst-creating crazy drivers, scooters, motorcycles, and don't rely on Garmin's Europe maps/directions.
A very clean lake city with many good restaurants. It is within an hour's ride of the Milan Airport and offers modern, deluxe hotels among Italy's antiquity. There are many outdoor restaurants within the "centro" piazzas. All are excellent and offer traditional Italian favorites as well as food typical of the lake and Piedmontese region There are boats that cruise the lake and are easily available to guests of the Stresa hotels.
Everything was perfect. Quite new apartment house with new furniture. Hosts guided with nice restaurants and small Villages to see, eat, drink wine and just chill. Perfect job from them. When you need to stay in the middle of Piedmont winery region and want to be flexible to move to various directions it is great place as the apartments are situated just outside of city centre and near the main road. We had private underground parking. Walk to city centre 10 min. Everything for self prepared breakfast was in apartments. Even eggs!!!
This villa is a gem in the middle of Piedmont! Authentic interiors, amazing views and the owner is a person worth meeting! We felt like visiting a private villa rather than a hotel. Every room is different and unique. The owner, Gabriella, is present at every breakfast to make sure that everything is perfect and gives the best tips on what to see around the area. We strongly recommend the cooking class with Mariella - what an exclusive experience! Villa Althea is available for your stay - book it now!
The hotel is very pretty and authentic, housed in a historical building typical of Piedmontese towns. The very central location and vicinity to bars, cafes and supermarkets add to the hotel's charm. The room was bigger than I thought, and I particularly liked the quaint separate washing basin with big framed mirror... it looked like a theatre dressing room. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant and, dining on my own, I was taken care of and pampered with the utmost care and discretion.
The only thing wrong with Hotel du Parc is that we only found it on our last evening in the Piedmont region. Having stayed in the region for many years finally a modern hotel finally bringing the Alpine accomodation up to date. From the faultless staff when checking in to the high quality finish of the rooms and the superb breakfast options and a fantastic English member of staff everything was perfect and cannot wait to return for another stay, could not recommend anymore highly
Nizza Monferrato
The accommodation is in the middle of the charming town Nizza Monferrato. Everything is just a short walk away. The apartment is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. A nice surprise was the king size bed (instead of two separate beds put together). Silvia and her family are very helpful. Their restaurant opposite the resort is also very nice. I would definitely recommend this accommodation for the Piedmontese dolce vita!
The hotel was spotless, very comfortable, warm, large very comfortable bed, lovely clean crisp duvets, staff was very helpful and lovely people.Fabulous breakfast- eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, juice, wonderful cappuccino! Great location for exploring the Langhe area of Piedmont. As I understand they have a wonderful restaurant but it was closed for renovations until April 1st. We will catch it next time.
La Morra
Do yourself a favour and stay at Sky and Vineyards when visiting the Piedmont. A comfortable 2-bedroom holiday apartment located in La Morra, a cute little town on top of a hill, you will get one of the best of views from the large balcony of Sky and Vineyards, overlooking the town of Barolo and the many vineyards around. Ilaria is a great host and will give you any information you require.
La Villa Hotel is absolutely fabulous, we've stayed here on a number of occasions and will continue to do so. The rooms are gorgeous (with really special attention to detail), Nicola the owner is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and overlook the stunning Piedmont landscape its just a great place to come and explore the area and re-charge your batteries.
Alba
The house was located on a isolated hill near Alba. We had a pleasant walk the morning upon wake up. The view on the Piedmont landscape was fabulous and refreshing. The wineyard, the mist and the countryside Italy was in perfect harmony. The house is located closely to Alba, which is the central town for the surrounding wine producing regions.
La Morra
Beautiful view & location among the vineyards, Room (Maisonette Suite) is beautiful and spacious (two story shower, steam room, jacuzzi & balcony) The staff is very kind and always willing to help. The restaurant offers a small but mighty fine selection of Piedmontese cuisine and the wine menu is a book by itself!
Alba
The property, owner, and staff are all incredible! We had the suite and it was enormous and well appointed. The property is amazing, we loved walking around in the mornings and evenings! Easy drive to Alba, Barbaresco, Neive and many other great Piedmont villages. 100% our favorite place we have ever stayed in Italy.
Fossano
We were really welcomed and made to feel at home. It is immaculately clean and its a beautiful Piedmontese location. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely (with a home made cake). We have been travelling in France and Italy and this was our favourite stay. We dont give 5* reviews easily.
Hotel Barolo is the perfect place to spend some days in the beautiful Piedmont region. Here you have comfortable rooms, positive and helpful staff, a good restaurant and wines from their own production. Best of all, there is an outdoors swimming pool. Great for hot, sunny afternoons!
A really comfortable stay in a simple spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped apartment. Superb location in the heart of the Piedmont wine country. Gloriously quiet surroundings. I would strongly advise this place - just don't book when I want to go back 😉
Perfect location to explore the Piedmonte area. Great vinyard views from both the swimmingpool, the breakfast room and the hotelroom. Very extensive and tasteful breakfast with many choices. Friendly staff. Parking on site.
Perfect hotel for exploring the beautiful Piedmont. Wonderful view over vineyards from the nice pool or delicious restaurant. The hotel staff is just perfect, too. We love staying at the hotel every time we can make it.
Fantastic hotel to base yourself for the roads and tracks around the Piedmont area. Great secure underground storage for motorbikes and cyclists. Good restaurants in the town. Staff v friendly, all c-19 compliant.
Neive
everything was amazing!!!! the breakfast is not to be missed! the room was very recently renovated with taste and incredibly thoughtfully. perfect hotel to say in the piedmonte region and Neive is amazing.
This is a friendly family hotel which is located in the center of Bra. perfect base for the discovery of Piedmonte
location and pet-friendliness with a special welcome kit for the dog (rare in hotels in Piedmont beyond Turin)
