Close to Venice yet so different, Treviso charmed us with its canals, picturesque streets, historic center, and the vibrant atmosphere created by its young population. It truly stole our hearts. Everything in Treviso is within walking distance. The shops are plentiful. There’s lots of gorgeous little bars and restaurants and cafés. I could spend the whole year here just going into each & every one! There just was not enough time. The only thing I would say is that the Italian waiters could do with some coaching when it comes to being friendly to foreigners. We did notice that they pour smaller drinks for foreigners than they do for locals but if you keep drinking in their restaurant. They then give you more than your first glass! We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13.
We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13. During this time the city was quiet, peaceful, and not crowded. It is clean and charming, which is actually a rarity in Europe. The only downside is that the shops close too early – it was impossible to go shopping during the day because of the heat, and in the evening, when it became cooler, everything was already closed. Great base for visiting Venice , trieste , Verona etc Explore the town and area beyond the Main Street, lots of shopping, cafes etc if you explore If you have a car, good to get out and explore an area where few tourists . A very nice place to visit and walk along the river sides. It's marvelous and very relaxing. Lovely flowery scent in the air coming from the flowers. Nice people and prudent drivers. It’s a short walk into the heart of the beautiful town of Treviso, and only 30 - 40 minutes by train into Venice. It’s also a great base from which to explore the nearby Prosecco hills region.
