Koggalla is small ,but has the same nice beaches and restaurants as the other towns on the coast.Yes a bit more basic,but also less crowded . We found the locals very friendly and niceThe stilt fishing demonstration is a cool thing to see and just be aware that you pay for pictures or videos.Nothing much and we had a fun time with all 5 guys showing us the ropes.If you respect them they will show you kindness and will be very friendly.We even delivered some chocolate for their kids later ,because we were staying so close to their beach.And that really made their day. Nice beaches and beach restaurants. Main road was busy / noisy most of the time with continuous cars, tuk tuks and buses. Lots of of rubbish on the verges and everywhere in general. no attempt to clear rubbish which i found quite depressing and locals had no interest in recycling plastic rubbish. this was not restricted to Koggala, it was common everywhere we went, quite disturbing,Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

It has 24h of security and the parking is closed so it’s safe for your vehicle. They took care of us in every second. Swimming pool is a super plus during the night with the lights! They provide us extra towels and hairdryer. Moreover, despite the checkout is at 11h they let us leave our luggage so we could enjoy the day in te beach.
