We loved just about everything about the place, We booked the 6 bedroom and the 3 bedroom units, which had a combined total of x 5 decks overall with stunning views and the beach at your doorstep. We also had the use of the spa pool and kayak. Danny, the manager was one of the nicest people you could ever meet and made sure we had everthing we needed.

We absolutely loved the view and ended up staring at the changes for hours. We enjoyed the simplicity in the 2 room cabin. We quickly got used to the toilet, easy and practical. I liked the big fridge, good linen and towels, great shower. We enjoyed the privacy and that adjustable sunroof outside. A perfect little hide away that we would love to visit again.

My husband and eight year old daughter stayed here while visiting family in the area, and we absolutely loved it. The motel is clean and comfortable, thoughtfully stocked, and the view! The view is stunning, and cannot be beat. It is conveniently located to shops and restaurants within walking distance (although uphill on the way back, heads up for those less mobile), and has everything you might need in the rooms, great value.     Mangonui is gorgeous - fabulous walkway, unique art & gift shops, great eating - Breakfast at Jesse's was huge & delicious. It is also handy to all the East Coast beaches - the north is always a favourite trip down memory lane for us.

    A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe.

    A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe. Newly built walkways around the coast, lots of wonderful restaurants - with takeaway options. The 4-square is very well supplied and people are friendly and relaxed. The ocean waves lap in here, nice wee spot with excellent scenery with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lovely accommodation at really reasonable prices.

    Staff were friendly however there was a power cut so no tv, unable to buy food or drinks. Power was off for a lengthy time it would have been nice to get an update or a discount. Other than that it’s always nice to stay

    A nice little place to stop over for a few days, especially summertime. A good place to start exploring the Northern part of the country. Some good food and coffee places to visit, shopping etc. A likeable sea/beach place to spend some time relaxing.

    Mangonui is a pleasant small place with a beautiful waterfront. Considering its size it has a good range of eating places as well as a supermarket. The heritage trail is interesting and also a good walk, although there are some steep sections once you leave the waterside. There are good views all around. At low tide there is an interesting range of bird life on the exposed mud. There is obviously good fishing. This a good place to tke a trip up to Cape Reinga and the nearby KariKari peninsula has a winery and good beaches.

    Original town buildings in a unspoilt, beautiful, harbour setting with excellent boardwalk along the foreshore. Good information provided on the old buildings about their previous uses. Reasonable range of places to eat.

    Clean, spacious and beautiful location. Mangonui is around the corner and a Four Square available 3 mi utes drive away. Easy check in and check out. Ironing board, iron, laundry and oven in a good sized kitchen provided which makes it really feel like home away from home. The beach is stunning and having coffee on the balcony with the ocean view was a serene experience. We didn't get to use the hot tub or enjoy the kayaks provided as we were there for a wedding, but we plan to return for a long weekend.

    The Hotel was in a great location overlooking the harbour. Easy walk to shops and places to eat. A number of local walks too. Our room was on the ground gloor with a deck area and access to a very relaxing garden. Well appointed facilities in an historic building. Justin and Jennifer were great hosts and made our group feel very welcome.

    The pool was a highlight for the teens but location awesome too with a beautiful setting not far from Mangonui Fish n chips! Was great to have 2 bedroom with kitchen facilities too at a reasonable price. Will stay again!
