This was by far the most comfortable place we have stayed so far. The bed was super comfy, the facilities were great, the shower was excellent, the seats were amazingly comfortable. The location is a 5 min drive from town but exactly what we were looking for. Slightly remote but still accessible. It had everything that we needed for a Christmas away. Thank you for an amazing stay.

I love this place, I've stayed there previously and will stay again. The hosts are excellent, both friendly and helpful. The cottage is a great place to base from, is quiet, yet not too far from town if you need anything.

    My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several...

    My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our stay in Twizel.

    Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery.

    Cute, small town with the most amazing scenery. The town itself is very small, but offers so much with scenic walks, activities & the locals are super friendly. We had dinner at the Razza Bar - a small, old school bar with the best atmosphere & great food. The owner was really friendly and told us all about the lord of the rings filming and where we could find the area where the fight scene was filmed which was very cool. Beautiful place & we can’t wait to come back

    The view is fantastic. We need to stay longer next time. Twizel is a good centre point for 2 lakes Lake Pukaki and Lake Takapo. Compare with stay in Lake Takapo, Stay in Twizel is more valuable. If you are hiring car yourself to teavel.

    The lake is brilliant and perfect for our power boat racing. The restaurants were fantastic and the food was great. The 'hardware store' is more than that! You should definitely check it out. They have everything!

    Good location from which to visit Mnt Cook/Aoraki and the Tekapo and Pukaki lakes. Ideal stopover for us as we headed from Christchurch to Queenstown. High Country Lodge was clean and comfortable with a spacious room and good facilities.

    It was just right for us because we do not ride bikes or do sports which could keep others another day. The town is lovely. The restaurants are great. Walked to the river and we were the only people there. People nice too. There is an olympic clean new looking pool there and if a warm day I suggest using it. It was so reasonable in price too and few people in it.

    We stayed two nights here and there are heavy snow in the first days, Mary gave us a big warm welcome in such cold day. The hotel is just near the small airport and you will have a good view for mountain even it is far away. The room is quite big compared with others, also there is a shared dinning room and you can cook with your own food, many magazines of airplane in the 2nd floor if you love if you are a fan of airplane.

    A spacious, comfortable and modern room that felt nice and private. Everything was clean, tidy and there's a handy folder with recommendations of local walks / things to do. It's a good location, an easy walk to various bars / restaurants and parking was simple. There's a small car park (accommodating around 3 cars) for the hotel but you're down a quiet side street so there's plenty of roadside parking also.

    An excellent accommodation from which to explore Twizel, this motel is a 5 minute walk from the town centre. There are many shared toilets and showers available, though we chose the private bathroom option. It is about an hour drive away from the Mount Cook area but the drive is so spectacular, you might find you haven't driven enough to fully soak up the views.

    We loved the location and the motel on the holiday park worked well for us. We found lots of local walks, the town of Twizel had everything we wanted. I enjoyed a swim in the lake. We took a trip and walked the Hooker Trail. Reception staff were friendly and efficient.We loved the night skies.
