History, history, history, the perfect place for a walking tour with so much variety, and very good food plus friendly helpful service. The only drawback was the bus station, where a begger seems to hang out asking everyone for money, and the absence of an obvious persons selling bus tickets. Great little town in the Alentejo on the border with Spain. Fantastic market on Saturday morning and the tile museum which is fabulous. We were met by Ruben, the Chef and owner, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in the area and restaurants to visit, and he organized a wonderful winery visit and tasting for us. The meals we had at both of the hotels restaurants (one onsite, one offsite) were both fantastic. The room was very tasteful and comfortable, and the location was perfect, right in town but quiet.
