Vale do Rio Hotel Rural offers modern accommodations surrounded by the rolling hills of Palmaz in the Aveiro Province. Its concept is inspired by the 4 elements, and facilities include a spa and a... We booked this as a way to split the road between Porto and Lisbon and have a good approach for visiting attractions around Aveiro and Leiria. To get into this eucalyptus forest and near the river from the chaos of the city was rejuvenating. The staff was kind and careful. The hotel looks nice, good room, view towards the forest, lots of light. Strong heating systems, it was the best heated place in 10 days stay. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was quite diverse and good. Besides spa, they offer access to entertainment room, with library, chess, cards, pool table. The restaurant is also OK.
This modern 4-star hotel offers an indoor pool and air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs. The room was amazing! The swimming pool, too. So relaxing. We had a small problem in our bathroom, but they gave us another room right away. The staff is really amazing and polite and professional. We had dinner and breakfast included - the food was delicious!
Casa de Coelhosa is around 0.6 mi from Vale de Cambra center, a 3-minute walk from the public swimming pools and a 5-minute walk from Burgães river beach. Excellent place! The owners are nice and generous, they make you feel a very welcomed guest. The location is good, easy access to Arouca geopark sites.
Set in Pinheiro da Bemposta, Watermill Moinho Garcia offers a garden. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. An easy walk from the Camino de Santiago. Location, surroundings, old Mill character, clean, and roomy! Very friendly owner and workers. Calm while sitting on a moving stream.
Located on São João da Madeira’s central square, the Hotel A.S. offers air-conditioned rooms and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Walking the Camino we really needed a good nights rest. This place was perfect for that. The reception sent us in the right direction for a wonderful dinner.
Lovely area - getting around - we hired a car but we also used railway to get to Douro river and Lisbon. The nearest station was 14Km away in Ovar - reasonable rates free parking and trains on time. there were buses from the village but we didn't use them. We spent most of the time investigating the local flora and fauna - butterflies including swallowtail were plentiful. Also visiting the medieval town of Coimbre and Douro valley.

The house is in a small village which has bars and other facilities are not far away. It was nice to have an "authentic" stay with the surrounding houses and bars for local people. The house is spacious and a lovely garden. Wonderful for walking.
