Small but very green tanquil island, still not discovered by tourists. Compared to San Miguel island Graciosa is more rural, remote and has much smaller population. Very few people speak English, however everyone is amazingly friendly and ready to help event not understanding the words. Graciosa is also more diverse - we hiked across the island and the scenery and plants were changing almost every kilometer.

This is a small island, not touristic at all.
This is a small island, not touristic at all. Small houses scattered across the island but very, very few people. For every 20 buildings you may find a human. Mostly local workers taking care of their fields and animals. If you are looking for a peaceful place to go, this is it! Amazingly there seems to be internet wherever you go (3G/4G). The houses have thick walls so the WiFi isn’t likely to be available around the house. As far as places to visit go, the landscape is awesome everywhere . There are lizards in the walls everywhere to make you company.
You will need a car to wander about. Public transportation doesn’t seem to be available periodically.

Everything was lovely, very quaint, clean and quiet.
Everything was lovely, very quaint, clean and quiet. The lady who ran the hotel was very friendly and helpful, she even did some clothes washing for me at a very reasonable price. The only thing I would say that needs improving is the mattress and pillows, these were not comfortable.
I am vegetarian and the two restaurants very near the hotel were excellent, Costa Do Sol and Jale. But if you are vegan, you will find eating out impossible!
What really stands out at this hotel is the incredible hospitality of the owner. She is so welcoming and friendly, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. No matter the request, she was always there to help and was a pleasure to talk to. We felt so well taken care of. While the hotel has a somewhat retro style, my stay was very pleasant and surpassed all my expectations.
Twin room with private bathroom. The location is 10 min walk from Santa Cruz da Graciosa downtown. Possibility to park the car in the street nearby (if have one). The host is very friendly and helpful. Good Internet connection as a plus.
One of the best hotels I’ve ever been. Maria Ajuda is great at running the space - the owners are lucky to have her. The place is beautifully decorated, it has modern kitchen appliances, it’s clean - it feel like home!
The welcome from the staff.Their understanding when we had to extend our stay due to the ferry being cancelled due to adverse weather. The characteralful nature of the hotels interior.Convenient location.
