The Sesimbra area is excellent for a family holiday with kids. The sandy beaches on both the coastline near Sesimbra and on the west coast nearby are beautiful. The beach at Sesimbra had very calm seas suitable for all the family and the west coast had waves for older kids to enjoy. There were lots of activities for active families such as kayaking, an Aquajump inflatables park, surfing and paddleboarding. We spent a lot of time at Lagoa de Albufeira 20 minutes frpm Sesimbra where there were waves and a calm lagoon for smaller kids and water sports activities. There are lots of very good restaurants and cafes both in Sesimbra itself and in the surrounding neighbourhoods. The area is lovely and not as busy with foreign tourists or as overly commercialised as the Algarve.
lovely little town , beautiful beaches , great restaurants , the dolphin watching tour is a must , people very friendly , walk to the castle , very hard walk but views spectacular when you get there!
It was our first time visiting Sesimbra. It's a lovely seaside resort town with a working port so there are loads of fish restaurants. Mostly Portuguese tourists so less English spoken than Algarve and less pubs but lovely restaurants and we were always easily understood. We would recommend a visit to Sesimbra castle steep walk up or driving is possible but really worth it. It was super views and a coffee shop at the top
Sesimbra is a lovely town quite hilly so be prepared to walk lots of steps up and down- fab restaurants lots of seafood and some nice boutiques - good beaches and great for water sports- we tried kayaking tour good fun
The beach is absolutely gorgeous! The water is pretty calm, so you can enjoy the water. And the town is super nice and quite active with lots to do and lots of great restaurants to choose from. Overall a place definitely worth visiting.
I loved to be able to have the door open so I could hear the sounds of the ocean. The room was beautiful as were the amenities. Breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of life.
Sesimbra
The location overlooks the sesimbra area so it is quieter than being in the heart of town. Parking can be had on the street, or for a fee in a nearby garage. Carlos was fantastic. He helped with everything from parking to finding a place to eat and wash clothes, told us the secret way to get to the beach, and acted more like a friend than a landlord
Sesimbra
Owner/ host met us and left great directions, advice, and recommendations. He made himself available if we needed him, and the place was clean and functional. He left some little treats too. Great location... close to the beach, though lots of street climbing. . Wear good shoes.
Sesimbra
The property met the standards for a few good nights stay, and it had adequate space for our family. The location was not too far from the beaches, but still far enough for walking up the hills with young children. Also no direct views of the ocean.

The staff were all lovely, helpful and polite. They provided a cot bed for our baby at short notice and were generally very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel was beautiful and serene and the breakfast was delicious!
The Hotel´s location is in fact amazing aswell as the view, breathtaking; The staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the area with the tiles pretending that we are underwater was beautiful.
Sesimbra
The house itself was clean and had all the neccesarry items needed to maintain it were included. The interiors are cozy and really make you feel like you are in Portugal. The hosts were friendly and introduced us to the house.
Grand old hotel by the seafront with big rooms and an excellent sea view. The bar has a lot of style. Breakfast was good, usual continental buffet. Both the pools were excellent; the inside pool has a lovely high ceiling.
Nice location, good value for the region Large comfortable rooms. Enough parking space Good breakfast with great view Quit rooms (just some noise from the hallway) even when close to the street Friendly staff
We asked for a walk-in shower and they provided it (apparently the only one in the hotel). I had told them we were there for my wife's birthday and they provided some cake. Much appreciated.
Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, buffet dinner was good but main dishes were not that great. Pool area really good and they have a pool bar. Room was good w air con.
