Providing garden views, Borralha Hotel, Restaurante & Spa in Vila Real provides accommodations, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a bar, a shared lounge and a terrace. Free WiFi is provided.... Very helpful and friendly staff. The way we were treated was the best. All the covid restrictions were done by the book. Also liked the food, the breakfast at the hotel, the launch and dinner at the hotel restaurant)
Located 5 miles from Mateus Palace, Quinta da Corujeira offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and air-conditioned accommodations with a patio and free WiFi. Staff were so helpful and friendly and the pool views were absolutely incredible!!
Featuring a bar, Rustico & Singelo - Hotelaria e Restauração, Lda is located in Vila Real in the Região Norte region, 2.5 miles from Mateus Palace. The location is super. 30m from central Square. 30m from pingo doce supermarket. The receptionist is very helpful. The price is very cheap. Quiet place.
Vila Real is at the top of the mountains in the Douro Region. It has extremely beautiful views, the city is nice and it has a lot of nature around it. You have many restaurants with typical food that are cheap. If you like eating, wine and mountains it's a perfect stay.
Other than a nice central church (Sé) and half a dozen historical buildings which can be seen in a couple of hours, Vila Real is one of the least interesting cities in Portugal, with a very ugly and disordinate built environment. Most buildings from the 70's and 80's with poor design. The 'must see' item is by far the Palácio MATEUS on the outskirts of the city (in Mateus on the South entrance to Vila Real), an architectural masterpiece and an iconic place full of history and a beatiful setting.
A very interesting and quirky city, lots of character and so many places to explore, an unhurried place, not many tourists , still undiscovered,Great local food and the local market is worth a visit.Lots of lanes and the shopping is fantastic, plenty of little churches, we where surprised . Highly recommend this out of the way place in Northern Portugal.
One of Portugal's nicest regions, close to the fantastic Douro Valley and thus to lots of interesting wineries, but also far enough away from that valley so as to have good road connections (the Douro Valley is all winding secondary or tertiary roads, and it takes forever to drive any given distance). Finally, super-close to the charming Mateus Palace.
Vila Real, Northern Portugal. Many beautiful Baroque style buildings in the centre. Too bad they have built some common modern buildings also but the centre plaza is all historical on one side. People were very friendly. They mostly didn't speak English but it was no problem. The city is in the heart of the Douro wine valley upper region (their river Corgo is a tributary of the Douro) with many hills covered in vineyards and village which are beautiful to travel through.
I loved that the apartment we chose was so lovingly decorated and anticipated all our needs as a travelling couple. We liked Vila Real very much as it is a clean, easily walkable town. Not too intimidating to get around. The people we met were very helpful when trying to interpret what we were saying in English. A good hub for daily trips. We would return!
Vila Real Loft 360 is a wonderful place to stay in Vila Real. The place is immaculately clean. Big and roomy and comfortable! It has a beautiful patio to sit outside, enjoy a glass of wine, relax and enjoy life. Some of the patio is in shade and some in sun so there are outside choices. The owner checked us in and was so friendly, giving us great sight seeing and eating suggestions. He also gave great advice on ways to tour the Douro Valley. I would highly recommend this place and will myself return in the future.
The Casa do Prado is very well located since it feels away from the city center but still super close to Vila Real. Very next to the property you’ll find the national park sights. Margarida is such a nice host and very helpful with everything you need. During the corona time, they take also good care about sterilizing everything and around the pool there was always enough room for social distancing too. The bathrooms especially are amazing!
We absolutely loved our stay at Zimao Garden House, Eva is a fantastic host! The house is spacious, clean, and homely, and Zimao itself is a wonderful peaceful hamlet in the middle of the valleys, a taste of the real Portugal! The sunsets from the top of the hills were a highlight of the stay, just a walk from the front door. We would definitely return, what a gem!
The town of Vila Real was not worth visiting but the surrounding sites are incredible we used it as a hub to see other places. Casa Agricole is very special and you do not even feel like you are in a city. It is an enclave of several beautiful buildings surrounded by well maintained gardens.
Room is roomy, cosy and amazing. Hotel is at the very centre so not parking available. Hotel has good price because it is a kind of hostel but if you choose private room that is SUPREME very spacious and we did not hear any noise.
Very cozy enviroment. The Owner is a pretty nice person with an ease to help. Want to go to Vila Real again soon and enjoy the very same place! Amazing experience! The sheets are clean, and the building is pretty new and comfy.
The staff was really kind and respectful but the room was not so good. It was too small there were some shortages which are necessary for any hotel. For example there was no hand-washing liquid, no sandals etc.
Modern boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Terrific swimming pool. Wonderful location for exploring the area but a little isolated.
We were on our way passing through and the hotel was easy to find and had a good location for this purpose. There was good parking for free on the premisses
Run by a very nice couple, the woman even could speak German. Nice hotel in the area of Vila Real, clean and adequate pricing. Totally recommendable
The room was really clean, the hoster was very friedly and helpful. The room is situated in the center of Vila Real. Higly recommended
The view to Marão mountain, the infinite pool and the hosts, Eugenia and António. Nearby Régua and VIla Real. (10 min drive)
Great location, Hotel is efficient. Staff excellent. On site underground parking for motorcycle is included in room price.
It’s in the old house but quite new and comfy. Very quiet. In the village on the top of the hill.
Great property, lovely staff, sizable pool, beautiful surroundings and a nice breakfast. Excellent stay, would definitely recommend.
The staff were lovely and helpful.
