Located in Vila Real, 8.2 miles from Natur Waterpark, Residencial Encontro has air-conditioned accommodations and a bar. Great accommodation, amazing value for money. It's right in the city center, and the people are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was also plentiful and delicious. The room itself is well equipped, has AC. Everything was just great. There is parking in a nearby huge public parking too.
Located next to the Corgo River, this large eco-friendly and family-run B&B in the Douro Region consists of 6 stone cottages and 3 guest rooms in the main house. The town of Vila Real was not worth visiting but the surrounding sites are incredible we used it as a hub to see other places. Casa Agricole is very special and you do not even feel like you are in a city. It is an enclave of several beautiful buildings surrounded by well maintained gardens.
Providing garden views, Borralha Hotel, Restaurante & Spa in Vila Real provides accommodations, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a bar, a shared lounge and a terrace. Free WiFi is provided.... Great hotel! Friendly staff Beautiful relaxing facility. Great place to take a vacation break or base your Douro stay. Dining on site was nice Sparkling outdoor pool with nice loungers. Spa for very low add on price has sauna, steam & indoor pool that overlooks the outdoor green space. Comfy well designed common areas too Free parking is easy, its dedicated to hotel. Highly recommend! I'd love to stay here again .
Featuring a bar, Rustico & Singelo - Hotelaria e Restauração, Lda is located in Vila Real in the Região Norte region, 8.2 miles from Natur Waterpark and 16 miles from Douro Museum. The location is super. 30m from central Square. 30m from pingo doce supermarket. The receptionist is very helpful. The price is very cheap. Quiet place.
Breakfast was lovely! All locally produced foods, eggs cheese and bread! Fresh orange juice! We had no tv in our room ( some rooms do have tv’s) but this wasn’t a big deal! Would have appreciated another mirror-in the main bedroom as the the bathroom had the only one but again we managed. I had my tablet so accessed everything I needed on that. The honesty shop sold wine beer bread and snacks at vey reasonable prices! Ginas restaurant down the road was great and very cheap
Vila Real is at the top of the mountains in the Douro Region. It has extremely beautiful views, the city is nice and it has a lot of nature around it. You have many restaurants with typical food that are cheap. If you like eating, wine and mountains it's a perfect stay.
Other than a nice central church (Sé) and half a dozen historical buildings which can be seen in a couple of hours, Vila Real is one of the least interesting cities in Portugal, with a very ugly and disordinate built environment. Most buildings from the 70's and 80's with poor design. The 'must see' item is by far the Palácio MATEUS on the outskirts of the city (in Mateus on the South entrance to Vila Real), an architectural masterpiece and an iconic place full of history and a beatiful setting.
A very interesting and quirky city, lots of character and so many places to explore, an unhurried place, not many tourists , still undiscovered,Great local food and the local market is worth a visit.Lots of lanes and the shopping is fantastic, plenty of little churches, we where surprised . Highly recommend this out of the way place in Northern Portugal.
One of Portugal's nicest regions, close to the fantastic Douro Valley and thus to lots of interesting wineries, but also far enough away from that valley so as to have good road connections (the Douro Valley is all winding secondary or tertiary roads, and it takes forever to drive any given distance). Finally, super-close to the charming Mateus Palace.
Vila Real, Northern Portugal. Many beautiful Baroque style buildings in the centre. Too bad they have built some common modern buildings also but the centre plaza is all historical on one side. People were very friendly. They mostly didn't speak English but it was no problem. The city is in the heart of the Douro wine valley upper region (their river Corgo is a tributary of the Douro) with many hills covered in vineyards and village which are beautiful to travel through.
Vila Real Loft 360 is a wonderful place to stay in Vila Real. The place is immaculately clean. Big and roomy and comfortable! It has a beautiful patio to sit outside, enjoy a glass of wine, relax and enjoy life. Some of the patio is in shade and some in sun so there are outside choices. The owner checked us in and was so friendly, giving us great sight seeing and eating suggestions. He also gave great advice on ways to tour the Douro Valley. I would highly recommend this place and will myself return in the future.
We absolutely loved our stay at Zimao Garden House, Eva is a fantastic host! The house is spacious, clean, and homely, and Zimao itself is a wonderful peaceful hamlet in the middle of the valleys, a taste of the real Portugal! The sunsets from the top of the hills were a highlight of the stay, just a walk from the front door. We would definitely return, what a gem!
The premises are amazing. An old estate home with gorgeous grounds. Amazing and helpful staff. The best “orientation” as well - you know those booklets that hotels have? This was useful and informative. The breakfast was fantastic and their light dinner fare perfect. I can’t say enough about CAL and strongly encourage you to try it. You won’t be disappointed!
Lovely hotel right in the center on the city, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and gave us advice on where to eat and visit. We had a room with amazing views over the valley and river.
The staff was really kind and respectful but the room was not so good. It was too small there were some shortages which are necessary for any hotel. For example there was no hand-washing liquid, no sandals etc.
Hotel is compoud by very nice buildings (old and new). Rooms were very comfortable, bathrooms were beautiful and confortable. Swiming pool area is nice. Breakfast is good. Hotel is well located.
Nicely decorated and comfy room in the pedestrian area of Villa Real. Our host provided the access codes by phone upon arrival. He gave some tips for dining, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed.

Run by a very nice couple, the woman even could speak German. Nice hotel in the area of Vila Real, clean and adequate pricing. Totally recommendable
The room was really clean, the hoster was very friedly and helpful. The room is situated in the center of Vila Real. Higly recommended
