Miracorgo is located in Vila Real’s historic center and offers a panoramic restaurant with views of the Corgo River. A very pleasant experience from the arrival. We were greeted before parking with instruction to go down to the parking garage with our motorcycles to avoid the rain that was just starting along with the pleasant staff at check in/out made us feel very welcome. Also helped us with restaurant suggestions. We even greeted our long time friend Tobias, the parrot, at the lobby. Delicious breakfast.
Featuring a private chapel, this refurbished 18th-century manor house offers air-conditioned rooms with a balcony. Its landscaped garden has a pool and offers panoramic views of Vila Real. excellent location, secluded, with plenty for a van. Nice clean rooms, great shower
Located 16 mi from Alvão Park and 9.9 mi from the Douro Region, the 24-hour Classico guest house is located 1.2 mi from the center of Vila Real. Location quiet and easy to find parking. Staff was friendly and helpful, mostly the gentleman at check in. Had a lift. And, included breakfast, albeit a rather basic selection.
Providing garden views, Borralha Hotel, Restaurante & Spa in Vila Real provides accommodations, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a bar, a shared lounge and a terrace. Free WiFi is provided.... Nice relaxing atmosphere. All the details explined clearly by polite staff. Quiet, comfortable bed. Nice breakfast in a nice place. I recommend for relaxing stay. Thank you very much!
Located 5 miles from Mateus Palace, Quinta da Corujeira offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and air-conditioned accommodations with a patio and free WiFi. Everything about the place was simply perfect, stunning views, mega clean, spotless and extremely comfortable bed and a lot of attention to detail. The hosts were extremely nice and friendly.
Located in Vila Real, 3.1 miles from Mateus Palace, Douro Village features a bar, a shared lounge and a garden, as well as free WiFi. The property is located in the city center and the building itself it’s very nice. The room was very clean and warm. No annoying noises, it was a good night sleep. The breakfast was fresh and homemade. There is also an outside area that is very pleasant.
Vila Real is at the top of the mountains in the Douro Region. It has extremely beautiful views, the city is nice and it has a lot of nature around it. You have many restaurants with typical food that are cheap. If you like eating, wine and mountains it's a perfect stay.
Other than a nice central church (Sé) and half a dozen historical buildings which can be seen in a couple of hours, Vila Real is one of the least interesting cities in Portugal, with a very ugly and disordinate built environment. Most buildings from the 70's and 80's with poor design. The 'must see' item is by far the Palácio MATEUS on the outskirts of the city (in Mateus on the South entrance to Vila Real), an architectural masterpiece and an iconic place full of history and a beatiful setting.
A very interesting and quirky city, lots of character and so many places to explore, an unhurried place, not many tourists , still undiscovered,Great local food and the local market is worth a visit.Lots of lanes and the shopping is fantastic, plenty of little churches, we where surprised . Highly recommend this out of the way place in Northern Portugal.
One of Portugal's nicest regions, close to the fantastic Douro Valley and thus to lots of interesting wineries, but also far enough away from that valley so as to have good road connections (the Douro Valley is all winding secondary or tertiary roads, and it takes forever to drive any given distance). Finally, super-close to the charming Mateus Palace.
Vila Real, Northern Portugal. Many beautiful Baroque style buildings in the centre. Too bad they have built some common modern buildings also but the centre plaza is all historical on one side. People were very friendly. They mostly didn't speak English but it was no problem. The city is in the heart of the Douro wine valley upper region (their river Corgo is a tributary of the Douro) with many hills covered in vineyards and village which are beautiful to travel through.
I loved that the apartment we chose was so lovingly decorated and anticipated all our needs as a travelling couple. We liked Vila Real very much as it is a clean, easily walkable town. Not too intimidating to get around. The people we met were very helpful when trying to interpret what we were saying in English. A good hub for daily trips. We would return!
This was by far the most fantastic house I have stayed in Portugal. It had such a cute vibe to it. The decoration, the cleanliness and warming appearance made our trip so much better. The owner of this beautiful house was extremely welcoming and very kind to me and my family and she made us feel so special. Thank you Eva for recommending us great places to eat out and local attractions to visit. Location is quiet and so peaceful. Loved everything about this trip. We will definitely want to come back some day soooon!!!! 🤗
Vila Real Loft 360 is a wonderful place to stay in Vila Real. The place is immaculately clean. Big and roomy and comfortable! It has a beautiful patio to sit outside, enjoy a glass of wine, relax and enjoy life. Some of the patio is in shade and some in sun so there are outside choices. The owner checked us in and was so friendly, giving us great sight seeing and eating suggestions. He also gave great advice on ways to tour the Douro Valley. I would highly recommend this place and will myself return in the future.
Staff very helpful, flexible and spoke quite good english! Easiness in check-in and check-out. Breakfast was actually pretty good (not a huge choice but everything that was there was very tasty). Rooms were quite big and comfortable which combined with all the rest makes the value for money of this Hotel one of the highest I have been/seen.
I like this classic residencial in the heart of Vila Real. The room was been a little bit small, but not too much. The bathroom inside was been comfortable, the double bed almost good, the wi fi worked quiet good, the check in was ok. Good value for the price. In front of the hotel, nice bar to drink a glass of wine or to have food.
The town of Vila Real was not worth visiting but the surrounding sites are incredible we used it as a hub to see other places. Casa Agricole is very special and you do not even feel like you are in a city. It is an enclave of several beautiful buildings surrounded by well maintained gardens.
Really helpful staff, very well priced rooms that are clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking as well. They serve a decent buffet breakfast as well! The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from Vila Reals centre, so consider using public transport if you don't have a car.
The hotel is right in the centre, the man at the desk was very nice and helpful. Even though the furnishing and bathrooms are a bit old we were comfortable at the hotel
new hotel with a very very nice view! owner recommended a very good reastaurant. nice, big and clean rooms. breakfast was good. the pool is great! recommend.
The room was really clean, the hoster was very friedly and helpful. The room is situated in the center of Vila Real. Higly recommended
Good location to walk into Vila Real. Friendly, helpful owner who spoke French (no English)
A fine well designed hotel. Recommendable !
Great property, lovely staff, sizable pool, beautiful surroundings and a nice breakfast. Excellent stay, would definitely recommend.
excellent location, secluded, with plenty for a van. Nice clean rooms, great shower
