Set on its own stretch of white sand beach, The Residence Zanzibar is a 55-minute drive from Zanzibar City. The property features a garden and offers free WiFi to its guests.

It was a paradise. A perfect getaway, great amenities for a resort such as tennis court, billiards, darts, table tennis, spa and the best infinity pool I have ever seen! The food was fantastic, service was excellent, good value for the pool villa. It was extraordinary. The property is huge they give cycles to guests and also have buggies. The half board package was the best decision as they had great entertainment each night such as seafood dinner on the beach with live dance etc. Beach is not meant for swimming due to low tide but thats how majority of the beach resorts are in Zanzibar.

Aya Beach Resort features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool, a garden and shared lounge in Kizimkazi. With a terrace, the property also has a restaurant, as well as a bar.

Aya Beach is a little slice of heaven! I can’t say enough about the delightful staff and how friendly and helpful they were. We accidentally took our key with us when we left - we are so sorry. Thanks for organizing a pick-up in Stone Town! The Office staff, cleaning staff and dining staff were all so kind, friendly and generous. The room we had was lovely! Spacious and cool, lots of room to sit outside and enjoy the garden. It was cleaned daily and our bed decorated! Mosquito nets weren’t even necessary - rooms are sprayed daily for bugs. The pool area is delightful and the dining room has the best view anywhere. We ate all our meals there and enjoyed everything, especially the fresh local fish. When the tide comes in the swimming is wonderful. Don’t let the hour and a half drive from town put you off, it is fascinating! Lots of little villages, people working in the fields and rice paddies, plenty to look at.

Located in Kizimkazi, a 10-minute walk from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Kameleon Blue has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

I stayed two nights in the villa. It's truly beautiful: Big room and bathroom, nice gardens and the pool is just perfect for a morning bath. The location is quite close to the beach, the breakfast is abundant and the best part is the attention of the staff which was amazing! If I am back to Kizimkazi, I would definitely stay in Kameleon blue again.

Located in Kizimkazi, a 12-minute walk from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, COCO REEF ECOLODGE has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

I absolutely loved staying at Coco Reef Ecolodge. This was especially great: Sandrine and David are fantastic hosts and help you organise whatever you need incl. dolphin tours, tours to the sandbank, airport transfers, COVID tests. The bungalows are large and really nice, very comfortable beds. The general vibe is really calm and relaxing, a true getaway. The hotel area is wonderful, lots of palmtrees, direct access to the beach, nice restaurant for dinners. There is also a hotel with cocktails close by. All in all, I can highly highly recommend this place!

The staff and the hotell facilties are the absulute best.

The staff and the hotell facilties are the absulute best. The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways. There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching. There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price. Hardly any touting which is nice; 3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

One thing about the Zanzibar, if you are staying in good...

One thing about the Zanzibar, if you are staying in good property then everything is perfect, but outside of the hotel's zone you'll see the poverty, hunger, filth and lifestyle of local people's. For us this vacation was like a good lesson for future life, because we live in the world's part where you can have everything you need and you are responsible for the life what you have, not like there. At the first day's we had a culture-shock about everything - kids, food, work, school etc., but in the end after 18th day's we were sorry about the whole situation. If you are traveling to Zanzibar, you need to be ready, that is nothing like in other countries. Kizimkazi was first place where we stayed. This side of the Zanzibar is more quiet than other sides! In this area we had a great time and we stayed in very good property 'Fruit & Spice Wellness resort' in the Honeymoon villa. The nature around was beautiful with lot of small animals and monkey's. We had an amazing people around who took care about us. In this side you can enjoy the dinner with beautiful sunset next to the beach or top of the ocean. There are beachfront with white sands and beach with the rock's but if you want to walk on the beach then it's a little bit hard, because of the hot weather. Kizimkazi doesn't have lot of tourist's or local people, that's is why the places are more expensive than the other parts of Island. We liked this part of Zanzibar!

Our stay at Sarabi Hotel was not a nice stay.

Our stay at Sarabi Hotel was not a nice stay. We had previously stayed at three other hotels around Zanzibar which we were extremely happy with and gave all the previous hotels a very nice rating of 10. Unfortunately our last stay at Sarabi was a terrible stay. Primarily because our air conditioning did not work, so we had to lie all three in it the double bed that was immediately under the air conditioning, when a little bit of lukewarm air came out of it. The other bed which we had paid 40 US extra for was impossible to sleep in as it was too hot in that part of the room. The result was two awful nights with no sleep. In addition, service at the Sarabi Hotel was very deficient. There was no hand soap in our room and when I asked the very lazy woman at the front desk if she had any hand soap, she just waved her hand and answered angrily "no". When I asked again, I got a rude answer "that I had to fine some cleaning staff myself somewhere in the hotel area". I did so and was then shown back by an very polite and smiling cleaning lady to the reception again where I finally got some hand soap from a room behind the sour woman in the reception who was too lazy to move the few meters out into the back room to pick up the hand soap herself in the first place. Like this, there were several details which all in all gave the impression of a very low level of service, for example you could not get water for the breakfast buffet, only if you paid for it. In fairness, however, it must be said that the hotel was flexible with check-in/out time and allowed to use the pool in the evenings. It gave much needed plus points to a hotel we were very disappointed with. We can not recommend this hotel.

Magnificent location. It's far from most things but that's precisely why you go there. It has a host of great facilities - pool, yoga, beach lounges and direct ocean/beach access. Unrivalled sunset location. The front desk staff were ok - a bit distant - but the rest of the staff were wonderful: the perfect balance of professional and personal - I felt like a brother and guest at the same time. I love the outdoor shower! And the food was great.

Everything was perfect. It’s exactly what we were looking for, so clean and relaxing. The location was excellent, directly on the beach and peaceful. Subery and Olivia couldn’t do enough for you and have built a small little paradise, made us feel so welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. Staff are wonderfully friendly, and to top it off the food is simply the best I have had on the island, so fresh and home cooked. Highly recommend

We did enjoy the atmosphere, that staff who always was there to make sure that we had a great time. The food and the facilities where amazing. In total we spent 3 nights/days there, but should have been longer. Also, a big applouse to the staff who made sure that the beach where clean and tidy !:) On the day of leaving, the hotel arranged a massage to make sure we left with a good and relaxed mind. To be recommended!

This accomodation was perfect, especially if you want to relax without people or have romantic time. It is 20 minutes walking from kizimkazi village. Owner and his wife are very nice and friendly. Food was delicious but not cheap. If is high tide there isnt beach but there are nice places around hotel. Cottages are nice. Great is that they have warm blankets.
