Cheerful bedroom w/free parking and 10 mins via car to downtown Chicago! is located in Chicago, 6.9 miles from Water Tower Chicago, 7.1 miles from Shops at Northbridge, and 7.1 miles from 360 Chicago.... I love that the house felt like home and the property manager made us feel really comfortable. The checking process was Swift and the lady that took our deposit was really cheerful and I loved her energy. The downstairs area was very cute. I loved the kitchen I never had time to make a cup of coffee and read a book never felt so relaxed also that cinnamon roll candle is everything and I'm going to buy it somewhere. Everything was really quiet and peaceful. She made sure that we had everything to accommodate our stay. I loved all the little snacks that was in our room there was a little mini fridge in the bedroom which I absolutely loved also the bed was so comfortable and the room was so cute it looks just like the picture and it is very cozy. She made sure there is always someone to help us if we needed anything. Communication was on point and I will be definitely be in touch. It's worth the money!! This stay was very relaxing and much needed 🥰
The hotel, built in 1928, was historic, had large rooms with a dining area and king size bed. We stayed in the main part of the hotel, not the motor lodge. Very quaint in a good way and only 2 blocks from the green line of the "L". We took the train from the airport directly to the hotel, no need to rent a car. The green line goes directly into downtown Chicago.
Oak Park is a Chicagoland Gem. We planned a Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio tour with self-guided walking tour. That was a great value. The Carleton Hotel was an ideal location to enjoy safe evening walks. Other attractions were closed on Mondays.
Oak Park is my hometown, so I might be a little biased. Always love coming here, but not just for the memories. It is a welcoming town, with a wonderful variety of places to eat, visit and enjoy. It has a commendable reputation for being a safe, friendly and upscale community for its inhabitants and visitors.
Oak Park is a very charming old neighborhood, clean and green, with beautiful big trees, and interesting architecture. We have enjoyed the breakfast, coffee, and cupcakes at the Courageous Cafe, as well as empanadas in the Mulata across the street. For those looking for a great social place and ice cream refreshment - there is a great store just down the street from Mulata that is open until late.
A town inside a metropolis, Oak Park has a small town, old style feel. Stroll along the treelined streets. Peek at Architectural treasures by Frank Lloyd Wright and students. Relax. Then hop onto the train and 20 minutes later you're in bustling downtown Chicago!
The wedding reception and stay at the Carleton of Oak Park was wonderful. It was a small, intimate gathering that was perfect for the room that they had us in. The food was fabulous and the staff was very accommodating to our needs. Oak Park felt like a quaint small village and you kind of forget that you are in a massive bustling city.

Beth was a super host. She was personable and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. The Garden Room was amazing. The common areas are cozy and welcoming.
I stay here every time I come to River Forest to visit my son in school and I am always pleased with my stay.
