Moc’s House was a rural oasis after the chaos of Hanoi. The proprietor, Huong, was wonderfully welcoming and an excellent host. We loved the room, the setting and the hospitality. Huong was very comfortable with Google Translate and was happy to accommodate us in any way. The place was spotless, the heater worked well and there was ample hot water for showers. The view over the valley was lovely. The setting would be even more delightful in warmer weather when the beautiful decks could be put to good use. It is a 20-25 minute walk into town (Sunday market).

Beautiful lodge with amazing views over rice fields. Maybe 10mn walk from Bac Ha town center. Room was spacious for our family of 4 and nicely decorated. Food was home cooked and very nice. I like the fact that we could refill our bottles with purified water. The hosts were very nice, helpful and spoke good English. Great breakfast (I loved the different herbal teas!). Comfortable beds. Mosquito net. And cute puppies at the lodge! Thank you Dua!

Very beautiful Homestay with beautiful terrace upstair and ground floor. Rooms are also beautiful , clean and all equipments work well. Dormitory has big bed and very clean. They all have glass front wall and doors so it looks very spacious and bright. There are big curtains and can be close for your convenience. The manager is a very kind and helpful. Breakfast is very big and delicious.

The family is so friendly!!! I had dinner with them and showed me some traditions. Ali and his daughter are musicians and they play flaute really good! The hotel is really nice, with an open yard and the room is new. Bed was really confy.

    Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel...

    Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Totally unprofessional and even verbally rude and sarcastic. Avoid at all costs!

    Mountainous area famous for plum.

    Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. You definitely should eat at Sa Mu restaurant. The food was so good that we went there twice.

    I only stayed Saturday night for the Sunday market but wish...

    I only stayed Saturday night for the Sunday market but wish I’d stayed Friday night too to see the buffalo market on Saturday morning. Get up early (~6am) and go to the market while it’s bustling with locals rather than waiting until the tourist buses arrive (from ~9am). Quan Binh Phuong does good chicken pho for 30,000 VND
