It is a very convenient place to explore the Northern half of Dartmoor from. It has a lot of pretty scenery and countryside close by. The town has some good pubs and a lot of attractive buildings. Fantastic location for walks across Dartmoor but there are also many other places of interest nearby including Lydford Gorge and Clovelly. The town itself has several choices to eat out and for drinks in an evening. The Brothers Restaurant was particularly nice. Just beware some establishments don't open on Mondays/Tuesdays. The location was tranquil and quiet. The view was great. The room was lovely, with nice fittings in the Bathroom. Breakfast was as requested and homemade bread and marmalade were an additional treat.
