We had some problems with the rental car and they took care of the phone calls. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is excellent.

Super fun place. The kids enjoyed the activities (note on Saturday and Sunday is when they have everything -weekdays just zip line and archery). The room were super clean, staff was great and food was wonderful.

Beautiful town, lovely old cathedral and historic town centre. Tourists tend to visit Matera that is 40 minutes away, and shops/bars/restaurants etc in Altamura shut from lunchtime for a few hours, so visits need to be planned when all is open. Lovely bakeries which sell regional breads/pastries. Public transport services seem good, but we hired a car. Very friendly locals.

You must try the traditional Altamura bread from the historic bakeries (called 'ovens').
Have a look inside the splendid Altamura cathedral, you won't regret it.
If you get lost on the way - don't worry, you get a chance to stroll among the streets and enjoy the views of the local citizens' everyday life.

Another very attractive old town, with stone flagged steets and many ancient buildings. Also rather fewer tourists - so far - than other places in the area.
The (inexpensive|) modern archaeological museum has a fine reconstruction of the neanderthal man found in the area, as well as good explanations, video etc of how he was preserved and then recently discovered.

A nice Italian city with a historic vibe.
A nice Italian city with a historic vibe. Easy to reach all main locations by foot. Parking is a bit problematic in certain hours of the day, but there is an option to park for free in the white-line areas. The city is a good starting point to explore Matera and the nearby region. Streets can be loud at nights, because a lot of bars and restaurants are working late. Great for a few-day trip in the Northern region of Puglia.

Altamura is a walled hill town with an air of past and present prosperity. It has good transport links for example to Matera. The Duomo is very beautiful, its Piazza shows it off superbly. The city is well paved, both the Corso and many side streets. The passeggiata is a lovely time of a summer evening. Mass in the Duomo is well attended. Altogether it seems a city proud if its culture and at ease.
The museum of Altamura Man, concerning human remains 150000 years old, is not to be missed.

The navigation is not working at the old town, you will deffinately get lost or scratch your car. When we finally arrived an agressive man came out from his car, screaming on italian probably about that we took his parking place even if we were 10 mins before him there with lighs turned on and waiting for a place. At the end he hitted our car, which was rent a car and I wanted to call the police but he left.
Very comfortable appartement! Close to the city center where we found good restaurants for dinner. The owner regularly contacted us to check if we had all we needed. Altamura is well located to visit Matera and Castel del Monte. Parking the car in the surrounding streets was no problem, we actually found a parking spot in front of the entrance every day.
Superb coffee and pastries at the coffee place nearby, excellent location, super clean apartment. Loved the beds - sleeping here was far better than in a few Italian hotels we've been to during our trip. Free parking a few streets away. The host provides all the information you might need during your stay in Altamura and is very quick to respond. 10/10

We've been traveling around italy and stayed at
different places, and this is by far the best one
we stayed. We arrived pretty late at night and still
showed around by the host. The beds were AMAZING!
it's been awhile since I had a decent sleep. We
would definitely stay here in a heart beat!
Grazie mille è alla prossima!
Great location and facilities. Included a cozy hall where you could get some mineral water, yoghurt or coffee for free. The room was very good and the hosts very welcoming and had good recommendations for local experiences. Plus Altamura was a lovely town with a beautiful old city and a calming rural mountain vibe.
The host was very kind, communication with him was great and he gave us useful tips to make our stay pleasant. Just a couple of minutes from the historic center and shopping street. Breakfast is nice, coffee was great. The room was spacious and very modern and overall we had a very nice stay.
Amazing hosts, lovely house, big garden, great place to stay if you want to be in the nature and feel the hospitality of Italian people! Delicious homemade breakfast! Not far from Altamura by car for diner! I strongly recommend if you want to feel at home! Thanks for our stay
This apartment is perfectly situated to have a look around Altamura and to range out to Gravina and Matera. There is a very nice Osteria around the corner and other places to eat nearby. My hostess Angela was quite lovely.
Claudio was an excellent host and helped us out with top tips on discovering the northern part of Puglia. Hidden between the lovely streets of the city, Murgia is a must while enjoying Altamura and its surroundings.
The hotel was in a great location for visiting Matera also close to the city of Altamura. The room was comfortable, the bed comfortable and the breakfast very good. The staff were very helpful.
Absolutely beautiful property, we will stay there again when traveling to Altamura! Very clean, modern, the kitchen was spectacular for gathering! Outstanding property!
