I like how close it was to Central Park and how it’s in a decent area in the city. Inside it’s pretty chill, the lounge areas were pretty decent as well. Everyone that I interacted with kept to themselves didn’t try to be talkative with you, this place is most definitely ideal to solo travelers trying to find a neat place who wants to keep to themselves. It’s also a hit or miss with roommates in your bunk area as well, there was this one person who was a little loud but I knew they weren’t doing it intentionally

Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The privacy curtain and lockers with lights and charging ports in them were great, too. I never had to wait to use the restroom. The wifi was fast and reliable, and there were many opportunities to meet other people. It was very close to the 1 train and M60 bus to LaGuardia.

This is an affordable place in an expensive city. The people are friendly who work there and the premises are fairly clean. I will stay here again if we come to NYC.

The shared room was not so crowded. It was for two people living in one room. The personal space was very private and clean. It was convenient to have an online key to unlock the door and 24-hour security to check in. The hostel is conveniently located near the downtown area.

The location is right in Chinatown, around a lot of great places to eat and close to both the grand st and canal st stations. The staff was very kind and assisted us with everything we needed. The room was small and as pictured but sufficient for our stay as we spent most of our time out and only went back to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Fantastic location for the price, we really enjoyed the area and felt very safe at all hours. The private bathrooms were good and clean, for a hostel it was very quiet (we were on an upper floor). Very pleasantly surprised that towels were provided in the twin bunk bed room, I hadn’t expected this from a hostel.

I have stayed at this place for three to four days because it was my short trip but I have never seen such a hostel and that too near such memorable locations and if anyone has a hotel or hostel within their less money and less budget. If you want to reserve it, I will recommend it and go with it and it is available at a very cheap price.

The different tours from the hostel were really nice. It was easy to meet new people. Especially if you are traveling alone. You have everything you need there! Also the cafe in the hostel was good and cheaper than some other places. But all in all i really enjoyed the place an liked it. Would definitely come back!

Excellent location in safe area. We were out all day & into evening and just needed somewhere to crash for the nights we were in NY. It did the job. Bunk bed was king single size, little creaky, but slept well on all 3 nights. Aircon old & bit noisy, but good white noise to drown out comings & goings of hostel (not that we heard this). Bathrooms were old but clean. Good to be able to access gym & pool. It was what we expected for the money paid.

It's a cheap an popular hostel and as a female solo traveler I felt mostly safe. The doors open with a card you're given at check in. The patio is really nice and they have a small cafe downstairs. Even though it's the upper west side so it's quite far away from the modt popular parts of Manhattan, by taking the subway you can be at lower Manhattan in 30 minutes which is better than staying at Brooklyn or Queens etc. Also the neighborhood seemed nice and fine, no super scatchy places.

It was a great location just a few stops on the subway from airport, and near all the places I visited. I was very happy with my room and the bed was comfortable. I was happy with the security and safety of my belongings and myself. If I return to New York I will book into West side Youth Hostel again.
