Well kept rooms in a 1908 hotel with some renovations. Still retains that old hotel charm complete with creaky floorboards.
There is shared bathrooms including a Spa... which was cool to find. Also, common area kitchen with cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juices provided. Plenty of outside deck space front and back with a lovely guest only outdoor area that gets full sun and is great during winter.
They also have a great bistro downstairs and the bar is well stocked and well tapped. Plenty of options. The place was well presented and real testament to the Publican. Well done.
Featuring free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and a bar, Peden's Hotel is 20 minutes' drive from the Hunter Valley Wine Region. It offers live entertainment Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

We have stayed here many times in the king villa. It is spacious and comfortable. The patio is a relaxing place to sit and read. Wi-fi is good. Having the Valley Brewery pub onsite makes it easy for a lunch or dinner. The property feels like it is in the country but a 5 minute drive into Cessnock. The zoo is also close by and worth a visit. Would highly recommend this property.
Located close to Hunter Valley Wine Country, Cumberland Motor Innoffers affordable accommodations and a salt-water swimming pool. The Cessnock Golf Course is also nearby.

The room itself was as expected. Spacious, tidy, clean. The pool was lovely on a hot afternoon. I would definitely recommend for a short stay, it was a good location, easy to park.
This beautifully historic hotel is located just 15 minutes' drive from the Hunter Valley Wine Region. Guests can enjoy a drink at the on-site bar followed by a meal at the on-site restaurant.
Located in Cessnock just off Wine Country Drive, Linda's Cottage @ the Hunter is a cozy 1920's cottage, nearby vineyards and all that the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Cessnock rarely gets named or mentioned and instead, "Pokolbin" is used by the tourism industry .. Pokolbin is literally next door to Cessnock! As far as country towns go in NSW, Cessnock is a good place to stop in and even take a look at Pokolbin. Cessnock is well serviced shopping-wise, has many great pubs (especially "Peden's") for well priced accommodation and excellent restaurants in their own right. There are plenty of cafes as well as the usual fast food places. If you're within a hundred km of Cessnock, have a look .. it's a lovely city in its own right encircled by beautiful mountains and vineyards. Don't be pulled into "just" looking at Pokolbin and the vineyards. Cessnock is worth a visit. I have a strong feeling that tourism folk don't like to mention the name "Cessnock" due to its coal mining history - but that in itself can be a drawcard.

Cessnock is a lovely "little" country town just two hours north of Sydney. Make time to visit the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park - adults are $42 ea, - it is a lovely wildlife reserve, the chocolate factory and the lovely wineries. The people are very friendly and helpful. Give the Asian restaurant (Kee Ho Restaurant) a miss - they are expensive, and the quality of the food does not represent the cost.

What a beautifully presented house full of antiques and homely touches. Just amazed at the well stocked kitchen, laundry etc. The beds were comfy, even the sofa bed. It was a great space for 5 adults and 3 children. Wish the weather was warmer for the swimming pool though!

first time ever being in cessnock, the place we stayed the night at was great, we went to the wildlife sanctuary which was so much fun. for dinner we went to the italian cottage and was amazing would definately go there again was delisious. only let down of the hole trip was that the taxis were horrible we had dinner booked at 7 we called a taxi and they said it was going to be a 45mins wait we then called the cottage and let them know this and moved our dinner back 30mins, we then had the taxi turn up 10-15mins later but lucky the place we were having dinner was fine with us coming at the time we said originally. we then ordered a taxi to go home which was a 30mins walk home. they told us to wait outside and would be there in a few minutes.... we waited over an hour for the taxi to come we even called once we had waited 30mins already and they said they still had 2 people infront of us... which they had already said it wouldnt be long until they would get to us.... so sounded like a lie to us. We ended up walking home becuase it was cold and was sick of waiting for this damn taxi to arrive never ended up getting a message to say the taxi had even showed up to the venue of where we had dinner. very dissapointed in this.

We visit Cessnock frequently as we have friends there and always have a great time. There is plenty to do, beautiful scenery, many good restaurants and a vibrant social life. In fact we bought a block of land at The Vintage with a view to building a home there.
On my last visit, we tried the new restaurant Pescara and had a great time and we always eat at The Deck which is fabulous. Had the best duck there I have ever eaten! Tamburlaine is our favourite cellar door and there is a myriad of other great wineries with restaurants.
We book mini-buses when we go to functions there or out for meals when we are sampling the local wines. They are very well priced and convenient. It is also easy to take a bus to Morissett for a train back to Sydney if required.
Property had a cosy homely feel, the lounges were super comfy , kitchen fully equipped and every room was clean and fresh. Beautiful big pool out the back and balcony’s front and back beats a motel room any day I will definitely be back and I’ve already recommended to family and friends.
And I can’t forget the hosts David and Hillary were very welcoming and responsive and whoever cleans the property is very thorough and pays great attention to detail ,thankyou for having us. Ally and family.
We had a delightful stay at this charming inn in Hunter Valley! The clean room with its antique furnishings added a unique touch, and the inclusive breakfast was a lovely treat. The shared spaces like the kitchen, dining room, and living room made our experience even more enjoyable. The receptionist's helpful guidance and the provided regional map were invaluable. A truly memorable stay at this eclectic gem!

Vine Valley Inn was centrally located. Close to shops. I liked the decor - furnishings and the coloured walls. It's something different to the typical boring beige hotel rooms. This place is bright, cheerful with retro touches. The bathroom is new with a massive shower head. It's a very comfortable place to stay. I enjoyed staying there, so I re-booked each week.
We stayed there because we were attending a concert at one of the vineyards. There are bus services that run from the motel(s) in Cessnock so if you are going to a concert worth checking out. The hosts were very friendly and liked to have a chat to everyone as they packed up in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable. Locally owned so worth supporting
Thankyou for every thing we were very happy in our stay at cessnock motel everything was excellent like the room was spacious , clean and well mentioned, beds were very comfortable and the amenities were great.”if I come back to Hunter Velly your hotel will be my first choice “
Modern, clean & spacious rooms. We stayed in Exec Twin Share Room & was pleased to see a wall between double & single beds & a seperate large TV for both beds.
Great location & proximity to town, with direct bus pick up for a major event in the Hunter Valley.
The room size was excellent and the housekeeping staff very friendly and helpful. It was close to most services and facilities in Cessnock albeit Cessnock is not a place I would choose to stay if I didn't have something specific I needed/wanted to do there.
Friendly staff, good location (for access to Cessnock and surrounds, but see below) and a nice new and very comfy bed. The shared toilets were clean (but see below). It was also the cheapest accommodation in Cessnock that night by quite a long way.
Everything was very clean. Two rooms had sinks with running water in them which is amazing for thirsty people after a day in the hunter valley. The other room had a balcony which was great for a final drink a the end of the night.
Very clean and comfortable. Top location - you can walk up to the town centre in a couple of minutes. The Cessnock Leagues Club is accessible via the hotel carpark - about 100 metres.
Property is pet friendly and kitchen is good size. TV is good with Netflix available. New couches and new patio furniture are great. Hosts are responsive and very considerate.
Excellent staff and lovely little room. Everything you need and well located in the middle of Cessnock. Locations great for doing things around the Hunter valley!
Location is great for activities in and around Hunter Valley. Spacious and quiet rooms. Restaurant nearby is a luxury but many cafes are a short drive as well.
