The room was comfortable, very clean and plenty of room. I liked that we chose our breakfast time and menu the night before and breakfast came quickly and was nice and fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed there as our son and partner where attending a wedding in Montrose we used it as a base , 20 mins from Arbroath lovely Cushing town selling the famous smokie everywhere, history in the lighthouse signal museum was good. We then travelled to Broughty Ferry, lovely promenade to walk all along, little boutique shops, castle, plenty restaurants and fish and chip shop
The Limes Guest house was in a convenient location - under 10 mins walking from Montrose train station. I was greeted by a lovely owner, Jen who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and helped to ensure I had an enjoyable stay throughout my time in town. Having stayed at the chain hotel a few nights before and breakfast being pretty average - I was genuinely surprised with the amazing breakfast standard Jen has offered - make sure you'll order yours, will not regret it!
Kristy (I believe that was our hostess’s name) was absolutely lovely and so gracious. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed so comfortable. breakfast was cooked to order and so reasonable. the property itself is so beautiful, and very homey — not like a museum. The gardens outside are so pretty and there’s a little reading/relaxing sunroom in it, for guests. Montrose is a “real” town, not a tourist town, but it is close to much to do!
We were on the top flat with views above the rooftops towards Montrose Basin - lovely to see the water. The proprietor was such a kind, caring gentleman right from our arrival. He even came from Reception specially to inquire about my health after an operation in Stracathro Hospital, Brechin the following day. His kindness meant such a lot to us both. Thank you so very much.
Excellent breakfast and the location could not have been better with the town , Montrose Basin , and the beach all within walking distance. Having off-road parking was a bonus and although some have commented that exiting from the car park is hazardous we did not find that a problem. The road is wide, straight and very quiet.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and always available. The breakfast was very good, and the rooms were very modern and attractive, whilst the public areas of the hotel were charmingly traditional. The beach was just across a short area of the golf links. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
wonderful views from every window beautiful hotel lovely friend helpful owners we came back from dinner and Barry was happy to serve us wine at 1030 pm delicious refresh breakfast. it is not clear on the site this hotel has a bar and serves evening meals at request could not recommend this hotel more
Great breakfast when made to order, never new if it was going to be cooked or buffet (buffet breakfast temperature not great). Very friendly & helpful staff from reception to bar to restaurant. Could do with a better set evening menu like their other hotel across the road( Park Hotel).
The breakfast was excellent. If you stay at the hotel then you get a discount off the green fees at Montrose Links course. The hotel owner made us aware of this during our stay. Our room was nice, but there are rooms that overlook the golf course too.
It was immaculately clean and tidy. A quiet location, parking was right outside, had its own private outside space and it was very well presented throughout. Good location for exploring Montrose, it had everything we needed for our stay.
Nice homely place with good bar and excellent breakfast.
Good location for access to cenre of Montrose.
Comfortable room with good shower.
Good parking facilities adjacent to the hotel with controlled entry.
Great hotel with views over Montrose Golf Club - ideal for our golf trip. Very friendly welcome, clean rooms and excellent breakfast - we would definitely stay again if and when we make a return golf trip.
A well appointed hotel with nice rooms and a good quality room in a quiet area of the pleasant town of Montrose looking over the park.
Good quality friendly staff and a decent restaurant
Fabulous hotel, lovely to have a bed and bowls for my four-legged companion.
The restaurant was excellent and the portion sizes were amazing.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Liked the hotel was close to center of town. Breakfast not up to our expectations. However, dinner was excellent. Our waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful.
Welcoming, friendly, accommodating and generous. Very comfortable room, and excellent breakfast. Would go to montrose just for a stay at the hermitage.
