Stunning part of the world. So much more to see than we had time for, a week would have been amazing! Beckett's do a fab breakfast, not many other places open before 9am. Stornoway is a hidden gem in the Outer Hebrides. We stayed at Lew's Castle, (beautiful property), and we explored some of the island. If I planned the trip again, I'd have added a few more days here, (we did 3, would have enjoyed at least 2 more). The standing stones, the beaches, the people - all amazing! Our only problem was not making dinner reservations the first day we were there. Cruise ships now stop there, so reservations are a must when they are in town. Atractive river front with castle and gardens one side, shops and restaurants the other. HS1 cafe and Boathouse recommendation were good places to refuel. Liked the people - friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Community Arts Centre, with Thai Curry Restaurant and excellent, knowledgeable staff.
