Property info

South Shore Guest House is situated at the end of Ocean Road next to the local parks and a short stroll to the beach, leisure complex or town centre. The building was constructed circa. 1890 and was the "Town House" and place of work of a private Doctor. In keeping with the style at the time, the rooms have high ceilings and extensive plasterwork coving and roses and many of the traditional Victorian features have been sympathetically kept through every update and incorporated into the modern guest house South Shore has become.

South Shore is perfectly situated to explore a wide range of local entertainment and activities. Walk out of the front door, turn right and the centre of town is a few minutes away. Turn left and you have a choice of two delightful parks. The North Marine Park meanders over "Lawe Top" hill with breath-taking coastal views. Following the footpath back down will bring you to the Westovian Theatre and Haven Point leisure complex and swimming pool. Cross the road and you enter the South Marine Park where you can feed the swans and ducks on their lake or board the scale steam locomotive. Keep walking and a minute or two and you will find the Pier, Funfair and miles of golden sandy beaches. If you like music enter Bents Park and listen to top bands and singers who offer free concerts in the summer. By now you will probably be feeling hungry? Not a problem! You may have heard of Ocean Road's famous "Curry mile" with some of the North East's finest Chef's preparing wonderful meals from around the world - and if you don't like spicy food there are over 37 restaurants and eateries to choose from. Enjoy your stay.
