Keith and Pauline were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The room and ensuite were clean and spacious and they provided some extra touches which were very much appreciated. I liked the way they had themed the rooms, each one being named after an old stamp and decorated accordingly. (They are The Old Post Office after all!) Their home is beautifully decorated with lots of knick-knacks and art work. There were several choices for breakfast which was delicious. They are situated in a beautiful area with good access to the City of Durham and Beamish Museum.

This pretty Grade II-listed property offers uniquely decorated rooms and lovely gardens with a courtyard. Each of the rooms at The Old Post Office features beautiful printed fabrics and artifacts. They offer lots of light and space, a TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast includes locally sourced produce including eggs from the property’s own free-range hens. You can relax in the property grounds and stroll into the village center, where you will find restaurants and shops. Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is a 25-minute drive from the property, while the Northumberland coastline is around 50 minutes’ drive away.
