ennis was a smaller irish town with excellent restaurants and lively pubs. it is clean, with enough to do and no traffic. everything was within walking distance of the house and an easy drive to the cliffs of moher and ring of kerry. the town is not touristy which we like. we met our hosts at a local pub, kelly's and met some of their friends and family. what more could you ask for! anyone planning a trips to ireland should consider flying into shannon and avoiding the capital city of dublin. though dublin is a very nice city with a great vibe, it is expensive, crowded with more tourists and more cars and traffic. stay on the western coast and enjoy galway westport, the dingle peninsula, killarney, cork, cobh, kinsale and clonakilty. though we didnt run into big crowds when we went in mid may i think march and april would be even less crowded. prepare yourself for cool weather and rain and you will love ireland!

Perfect location for the West Coast ~ along train line so we were able to come from Dublin and able to have 2 days to visit Galway & Limerick. Ennis is a lovely gem of a town. Tiddy & friendly town too. People of Ireland were very welcoming.
Clare Museum provided historical information. Carmel & Maria were very helpful with providing maps of Ennis & towns nearby as well as train schedules. They also had additional information about specific attractions & events nearby as well as available hours.
Pub grub (Knox’s, Brogan’s,Poet’s Corner) & music was great & enjoyed the local cafe ( Cafe Aroma) too.
Liked visiting some of the shops ~ especially the Book Store, News Agency, & Woolen Shop. I followed the Ennis Walking tour~ really liked seeing the Friary, Cathedral, the market. Library ~ recently updated on line site for researching ancestors. Although a nice small library, I understand that a new larger library is being built which will be a great benefit for citizens & visitors too.
We hired a taxi from Ennis for longer trip to Dingle, the Slea Head Loop and for other day to check out Craggaunowen and an area that our family possibly came from. Mike our taxi driver was very helpful & knowledgeable about the area.

Ennis is a great town to start a trip along the West Coast.
Ennis is a great town to start a trip along the West Coast. It is not far from Shannon Airport and has great pubs and shops there. The food in the pubs and restaurants is excellent and you will find Irish music most nights in one of the pubs in town. Very accessible to all of the beautiful sites in County Clare

Ennis is a great, colorful town in a central location with great walkability. There is a lot to do in town or outside of town. It's not too far from Lahinch and the coast for day trips. It is very busy on the weekends.

We went to Ennis to meet up with long lost relatives of my father but we have visited Ennis three times in the last year. Ennis itself is nice, nice pubs, restaurants and shops but we travelled around quite a bit and seen many tourist attractions. There is lots to see and do in County Clare. It has it all, beautiful country scenery, the sea, rivers, the burren, the music, the craic, lovely food and pubs and the people are very friendly. There is lots to do but my personal opinion is, it’s better, if you travel by car.
Had a pleasant, relaxing stay at the Ashford Court Hotel. Very helpful staff. Good food. Location a little off the beaten track but that gave the advantage of being able to leave windows open with no outside noise. Very warm during our stay, definitely needed the windows open and could have done with lighter duvet. Bathroom could do with a little update but overall very good value for money. Pleasant atmosphere with plenty of good food. Would go again.
Everything was beautiful, the house was spacious, warm, well furnished and decorated, fully equipped, quiet, a nice big garden, just 3km away from Ennis centre, host Magdalena welcomed us heartly, there was a welcome treat for us, so comfortable.
A great accommodation for a weekendtrip with friends in between Cliffs, Limerick, Galway and Kerry but also a great place to relax with the whole family and the beautiful town of Ennis in front of the door.
I was allocated a beautiful room overlooking the Cathedral in my home town of Ennis. An elegant well appointed room. Breakfast was part of the package. And what a breakfast to look forward to. A brekfast offering fit for a King or Queen ! There were so may cooked options, delicious pastries, fruit, cakes juices. I could go on. Quality tea and coffee. A great start to the day. This is my hotel of choice when returning to my home town.
Staff are super friendly and professional, ample parking in the lot, and the hotel is located a short 40 minute walk from Ennis town. The grounds themselves are well kept and very quiet. Room had an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and kettle (fully kitted out). Excellent water pressure in the bathrooms, which are kept very clean. Complimentary bottled water was provided and refreshed each day.
You won't be disappointed in your stay at the Temple Gate Hotel. The building itself is a bit different and very interesting. It has a good sized car park, but you can also walk through to the shops in Ennis. The Legends restaurant was only open at weekends while we were staying, but we had a delicious 'bar' meal with lots of space around our table
My stay at Corina's accommodation in Castlerock was lovely, the accommodation is comfortable, warm and beautifully decorated. The location is good, a nice walk into town. Corina was so welcoming and helpful. Ennis is lovely, such a nice town to visit, plus Ireland's Tidiest Town! Thanks you Corina, I look forward to visiting again sometime :-)
Gerry & Mary have a lovely Irish B&B located close to the quaint town of Ennis. Their home was located on a dairy farm from 1853, and has all the charm of its’ history-with modern updates for travelers. We absolutely LOVED it! The breakfast this morning was incredible. Can’t say enough ‘good things’ about Knockaderry House and hosts! 😎☘️🙌🏻
Everything was great from customer care, location and price. Rose and John are amazing host, friendly, kind and professional, I loved this place as it embodies old Ireland, where we all become friends.
The breakfast was lovely, and Rose even makes here own soda bread. Nice touch..
We will be back and Thank you for sharing your home.
Gorgeous room, great location, close to center of Ennis. Mary and her husband were so generous with me. The weather was rainy and they picked me up and dropped me off, so kind. Breakfast was delicious. Shower was amazing. Will return, highly recommend.
Pauline was a lovely, welcoming Irish host who made us feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door, making us a cup of tea and providing recommendations for dinner in Ennis.
The location is very good, as it is minutes to walk to the town of Ennis. There is good parking at the bed&breakfast and the room was a good size. It was clean and comfortable.
Great location for visiting Ennis.
Clean and roomy.
Our first stay was in the back bedroom (facing the back yard), it was very comfortable and quiet enough to sleep.
Beautiful family-owned hotel in a great location with a rich history. Very comfortable room, lovely library.
Excellent pub and restaurant, thoroughly enjoyed!
