best thing was the ability to check in late after cruise to the islands and that it had a gym

Whilst I didn't see much of it, I wouldn't stay here. Just travel through on way to Aeolian islands. Surprisingly, no taxi's or uber's at train station when I arrived from Palermo so I had to hitch-hike (lol)!

It's not Taormina which is obviously the jewel in the crown of Sicily but it's a nice town to wander around and the restaurants are good and plentiful.
We stayed there specifically to be close to the Aolian Boat tours (which I don't recommend).

What I liked most were the hospitality and generosity of the father/daughter hosts. They were supremo! Outstanding! Wunderbar!
We also enjoyed the Norman castle which was very close.
And there was a wonderful 🐢 who loved to be massaged by the proprietor.., and a handsome Husky dog! All Bueno!

The views from the hotel (including Etna) were just fantastic (we booked sea-view). The location was great for ius as it was a short walk to lots of interesting places for us, and the staff were really friendly ( a bit more english would have been helpful but wasn't necessary)

Milazzo is a beautiful coastal city rich in history, culture and architecture. I was there for just two days as the purpose of us staying there was our sail to the Isole Eolie, but I did notice the city offers excellent shopping and all types of dining and nightlife. And the day and nighttime views of the Aeolian sea and mainland Sicily were gorgeous. As Italian/American tourists, I was delighted how friendly the locals were to us on the street and in the stores/restaurants. Be prepared to pay for parking wherever you go though day and night. I would certainly visit this city again.
Beautiful home at the base of Milazzo castle. Well kept, clean and with AC in each room. The hosts Antonio and Patrizia were a real pleasure. Very hospitable, made us feel like we were in our home. They took us to the grocery store to get food. They provided a nice spread for breakfast and delicious cappuccino each morning. They were helpful with recommendations on activities and where to eat dinner each night. They often made the reservations for us. Truly a wonderful experience at the home of Antonio and Patrizia.
The hotel is perfectly located adjacent to the duomo, a few steps away from the main waterfront and a 10-minute walk from the village centre, where one finds the ferry to the Aeolian Islands and the bus stop for our connection to/from Catania Airport. A lot of shops are located close by, along with some very good restaurants & coffee shops. B&B Al Duomo is a small family-run hotel. Eliana & Giuseppe really make you feel at home, making sure to assist you any time with anything you may need.
Well located near the port if you have to take the ferry in the morning. I stayed only one night and left early so I didn’t use it, but the kitchen seemed functional.
The shared room was large enough, doesn’t feel squeezed with the other beds. The room has a cute little balcony. It was quiet at night, no significant noise from the street, as I experienced in other places in Sicily.
The hostel is located in a flat converted, which is not very large, but well arranged.
I love this authentic Sicilian hotel. The floor tiles are so beautiful. I had a balcony overlooking the port, which is a busy place all the time. I was woken by the early morning activities; however, that is part of the fun for me.
The reception phoned a taxi for me and the driver was exceptionally professionally and thoughtful. He parked his car and brought my heavy suitcase right inside the ship for me, which helped immensely .
Irene met us as we arrived and directed us to a nearby parking lot. She was the nicest and most welcoming host we ever met. The apartment
was fully equipped with whatever you can think of and beyond. Not even a tiny detail missed. The fridge and the kitchen cupboards were filled with wonderful treats.
Unfortunately we were at Milazzo for only two nights but we will definitely return. Highly recommended
Perfect for an overnight stop if you are travelling around Sicily. The host managed everything efficiently from remote, we arrived late at night and she had a system that let us in efficiently. The location is not very charming as iti’s close to the industrial part of Milazzo but really comfortable and safe if you are travelling by car and need to stop overnight! Breakfast is simple but good and clean.
The hotel manager, Peppe, was exceptionally resourceful and friendly! He literally made our vacation several notches better with his recommendations of local food, delis, stores, and basically any information we needed.
In general, the stay was flawless. Amazing sea views from the room, the hotel restaurant, and the rooftop pool. Great breakfast, great service. Highly recommend.
It was a classy place to stay in old town Milazzo. Breakfast was nutritious and delicious. The room was a cool respite from the hot Milazzo summer heat wave. We loved chilling out during the heat of the day. And the facilities were well appointed and clean, Also the staff was generous with their time and knowledge, so friendly and funny! We couldn't have asked for more.
It was to pleasure to be there. The hotel was nice and located in the centre of Milazzo. The distance from the port was 5 min walk. We had tranquil nights there. The room was spacious and the terrace was a great
addition. The staff had written to me beforehand and was in touch all
time. The breakfast was delicious and rich. Grazie
Upper - Boutique Hotel is a great place to stay in Milazzo. It is located next to the port if you wish to travel by ferry to the islands around.
Rooms are clean and equipped with everything you might need. The beds and pillows are very comfortable!
Communication with the hotel's staff was great! They are always ready to help you.
An excellent hotel near the harbour, where we were coming back with a ferry from the island of Lipari. When we travelled forward, the staff ordered a taxi for us, that came timely. All the surroundings was good. Next to the hotel were several restaurants and bars. The restaurant we went to had world class Sicilian food. Thanks.
This is a superbly equipped property in a stunning location. It is very convenient for the hydrofoils to the Aeolian islands, local buses outside the hydrofoil terminal and the Catania airport shuttle (book first). Milazzo has really good public beaches. The apartment is close to good supermarkets.
The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, they welcomed us warmly when we arrived late, and answered all of our questions about our onward travels and helped us find a place for dinner. The room was lovely and comfortable and clean, exactly what we needed for one night in Milazzo.
A very convenient stopover for a night or two, on the way to the Eolian Islands, good restaurants in the vicinity, Milazzo is pleasant enough as an introduction to Siciliy. Good beach just down the road. The price is a bargain compared to other accomodation options in Sicily.
Excellent four stars hotel. We loved the garden with the swimming pool and easy access to the sea.
On the last night they organized a Sicilian night with traditional food, wine and music. Fantastic experience!
Location: few steps to Liberty line ferry to Eolian islands. Indoor garage for 15€/day.
Communication. Excellent WiFi. Fridge and hot drinks for all rooms. Gratis granita in the Tropical bar.
Absolutely the best place to stay for a journey in Milazzo or even for a longer stay.
All was clean, working well and the balcony with the sea view was wonderful also.
Nino was an incredible host, very great to communicate with. The property was in the perfect location to walk to the port for our morning ferry to the Aeolian Islands.
