Hotel Duomo is a great hotel, the staff is absolutely wonderful, the location cannot be beat and they offer a great breakfast. After we made a mistake, the gentleman at the reception explained how to take our car right to the front of the hotel to drop off the luggage and then he took the car to the parking lot. Everything worked great, we loved Hotel Duomo and we can recommend it to anyone visiting Orvieto.

The location is amazing. Orvieto is beautiful. And the hotel is perfectly located. The breakfast was absolutely lovely. Our room was gorgeous, quite large and the air was comfortably and individually controlled. The staff is absolutely the best we have ever experienced. Incredibly helpful. Patient. Kind and so pleasant. They guided us to park in their private lot, made dinner reservations and packed us a breakfast on the day we checked out early. This is without doubt one of my favorite hotels. I stay at st Regis hotels. Relais&chateaux hotels and this tops them. Loved it. Stayed for three nights and booked two rooms. Everyone in the family loved it.

The hotel is a renewed palazzo-style building, which I really liked. The room was super quiet (third floor, with a view to the street). Nice and comfortable bed (and pillows). The Duomo is around a 10 minutes walk. The staff was incredibly helpful and warm. The breakfast was fine to me

Orvieto shouldn't be missed on a trip to Umbria. It's quite a beautiful town.
I'd like to apologize to the host 'Enzo' for my initial review. I was in a grumpy (tired) mood and he did try his best to accomodate us with his suggestions. I liked his secure parking. Thank you, Vincenzo. Visiting the town was easy to do. We ate at 'Il Mercato'; excellent food and service. The Duomo is unreal. Gorgeous facade.

The stupendous Duomo of Orvieto is on top of the list of...
The stupendous Duomo of Orvieto is on top of the list of places to visit. The cathedral commemorates the Miracle of the Eucharist in Bolsena-droplets of blood that stained the altar linen, made some time in the1260’s. According to the Bradt Guide for Italy, Umbria & The Marche regions, “A Bohemian priest named Peter, was on his way to Rome, was asked to celebrate mass in Bolsena, just to the south. Father Peter had long been skeptical about the doctrine of the Host becoming the body of Christ during the mass, but the Host itself answered his doubts by dripping blood on the altar linen. Peter took the linen to the Pope (Urban IV) and he declared it a miracle and instituted the Feast of Corpus Christi. Pope Urban IV promised Orvieto (rather unfairly to Bolsena) a magnificent new cathedral. “
The exterior façade of this gothic cathedral, has mosaics depicting the life of Christ, the Virgin Mary, etc. with stunning gold backgrounds, that glow in the afternoon sun. The interior has cycles of frescos throughout, painted Fra Angelico, Luca Signorelli, Perugino, Piero della Francesca, to name a few.
The other most remarkable attraction in Orvieto is the Viaggio nella “Città Sotterranea”, the Orvieto Underground tours. We took an fascinating, evening tour given in English by a local guide. Tours can be booked through an office near to the cathedral in Piazza Duomo. As the brochure notes “Orvieto Underground is the best way to become acquainted with this new, unusual aspect of a culture of a city that abounds in history and outstanding art treasures. The tour takes you along a winding subterranean path through tunnels, stairs, unexpected passageways, superimposed rooms, with innumerable small square niches, all of which bear witness to creation over the centuries of this “city underground”.

People who just do a day trip from Rome miss out on exploring the romantic little town and really getting a feeling for the history of it.
3 - 4 days is jsut right if you want to walk around the entire town once and do all the sightseeing and relax at the same time.
You will laugh, but my fridge was outside between my window and shutters, I had breakfast at my window and grabbed pizza as take away in town. I have got a fear to get lost in big cities - so Orvieto is perfect - you just stroll around everywhere and when you want to get hoem you ask : " Duomo ? " and peopl;e point you in the right direction. :)
The well is super interesting, the dome was great, the Etruscan museum and walking around the bottom of the town.

The hostess where i stayed is wonderful.
The hostess where i stayed is wonderful. She gave me restaurant tips. I went to two restaurants and cafes too. They were all good.
Orvieto is wonderful to walk around with beautiful scenery, interesting history and great shops. Top quality beautiful goods. Leather and ceramics and clothing all top quality. A magical experience awaits at one shop with armour outside.
The whole town is a photographers dream and the views of the surrounding countryside are amazing. Especially from the clock tower. Beautiful walks along well kept paths overlooking the countryside.
The Duomo is stunning and there are many galleries, museums and historic places to visit. Easy to walk around. A funicular ride up is special.
The underground tour is so interesting.

Orvieto is a beautiful city.
Orvieto is a beautiful city. It stands out by its friendly services all around. They just welcome visitors more than other cities. Also free wifi the entire city centre. In the winter months, it's magical. I love sitting in Piazza del Popolo during the summer months - it really transported me back into how I come to know of Italy in films. I will go back over and over again for retreats.

Lovely Umbrial hill town. A must see is the Duomo.
Lovely Umbrial hill town. A must see is the Duomo. The highlight is the San Brizio chapel with detailed frescos of the day of judgement and life after death. Also the outside facades divided by four pillars. Beautiful mosaics, sculpture and stained glass start with the creation and end with the last judgement. Highly impressed with this Cathedral.
The location is a bit hard to find but once you know, you know. Just a 5 mins walk to Duomo, and 3 mins to the centre. There is a supermarket nearby which is handy. I visit Orvieto regularly so I am looking for a retreat rather than a hotel. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood. The apartment has modern features and all amenities are in place. I love it when I can cook easily without fuss. It's exactly what I need. The apartment is bigger than I expected so there is plenty of space to lounge. In fact, there is a lounge sofa!
The best aspect of this stay was Roberta and Valerie — the latter was gracious, kind and patient...she even met me at a parking lot to guide me to the property. Both she and Roberta helped me to carry a heavy load of items to the apartment. Throughout my stay Roberta was consistently in contact per my needs and even helped me out with several errands. Being on my own w/two large dogs, it was the first time I felt like I wasn't alone in Italy. GRAZIE MILLE.
This was far too large for one person but if you love history and would like a unique place to stay this is perfect place to stay.
There is air conditioning in one bedroom which was vital since Orvieto was hotter than usual. The host couldn’t have been kinder and offered to drive me to the train station.
The antiques and frescos on the ceiling are priceless. It’s located right on the Corso with lots of restaurants and coffee shops close by.
La Magnolia is in a wonderful location to visit the Old Town in Orvieto. It is just a few steps from the Duomo and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The breakfast is an added bonus in a small cafe attached to the hotel. Delicious pastries, fabulous coffee, and more. The owner is very helpful, and she was especially accommodating in giving us an upgraded room. We would highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Orvieto.
Location was oky, all in all. It is a bit like in the good old days - a little Pizzeria in the basement (quite cozy and recommendable) which you need to pass to get to the higher levels and into your rooms. We loved the place, since we like pretty much the retro-experience of staying in Italy like back in the 80s.
The breakfast fast super-individual and prepared with love.
Exceptional spacious apartment. Modern tasteful decor
The cleaning was superb.
Comfortable bed and linen
Warm and cosy much appreciated given the cold damp day. So many places in Italy have very cold accomodation at this time of the year.
Excellent location less than a minute to the duomo
Very good value for money.
Would definitely recommend
This property is a hidden gem. It was clean and comfortable. The location is amazing- right in the middle of where you want to be. We stayed for one night, and we were able to soak up Orvieto as we were within walking distance from the Duomo and many fantastic restaurants and shops. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating.
Perfect location 1min walk to the main town centre & Duomo.
Staff were great even parked our car for us round the corner from the Hotel into the private parking area and returned it for us to depart the next morning.
The Breakfast was help yourself continental which was more than enough..,
Definitely recommend staying here..
this apartment is superb, it is much bigger than you realise and so charming. such a great location and value for money. I could not fault this place, it was my favourite apartment from our 3 week stay in Italy. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone. the beds were the most comfortable too.
Perfect stay at Casa Corsica. Our host was so amazing, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Roomy accommodation, quiet at night and close enough to the action that you could come back to use the bathroom or have a rest. We loved Orvieto, one of our favourite places in Italy .
The hotel is a renewed palazzo-style building, which I really liked. The room was super quiet (third floor, with a view to the street). Nice and comfortable bed (and pillows). The Duomo is around a 10 minutes walk. The staff was incredibly helpful and warm. The breakfast was fine to me
The location is perfect. The garage is close by, only a few minutes walk. The apartment is really lovely, the kitchen is very well equipped. The beautiful Duomo of Orvieto is a few minutes away and many nice restaurants, too. Carla is a very friendly and attentive host.
This was my favorite place of our trip to Italy. The place is beautiful and located conveniently to Orvieto. The staff is fantastic. Dinner was great and the breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend the massage and wine tour and tasting.
Centrally located in an amazing town . Orvieto is a special town to visit in Italy and Casa Ginerva is a perfect place to stay. The owner was incredibly helpful to find suitable parking and very helpful at check-in. Highly recommend.
The location was excellent very close to the Duomo in the historical centre of Orvieto. We very much enjoyed Orvieto very interesting and pretty. The property was spacious really a lot bigger than what we used in our short stay.
This is a lovely apartment is in a convenient location, just a short staircase away from Orvieto's lovely Duomo. It features a large kitchen and the TV spoke to my phone to connect to my personal Netflix account.
Location is fantastic. Orvieto is a beautiful old town and you certainly get a piece of that charm staying here. The host and unit where a highlight of our trip to Italy.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
The location of this wonderful hotel is absolutely fantastic. The duomo was so close, to the right when you walk out! Breakfast is perfect. And yes they have parking!!
