Loved the location - so close to the park! The self check-in was good. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. There was a little fridge and some basic dishes too (even though cooking was not allowed). It was nice to have a sofa to relax after walking around Nara all day. The shower and bath was really good too.

For a love hotel, the aesthetic is not too sketchy. it felt pretty equatorial. I like that I could have a drink brought up to my room 24/7. The staff is friendly (at least the one I met). The sound isolation is decent, I only heard cleaning noise in the near room in the morning, though I'm unsure if I had neighbors. The room is spacious and the ceiling high. It's a change from usual Japanese hotel rooms. I appreciate the wooden vibes. The AC is strong so the room cools down and warms up pretty fast. Amazing black out windows at night. No bad smell. a little Jacuzzi. I recommend if you have hard time dealing with tiny hotel rooms in Japan and don't mind taking taking back and forth.

This was the most welcome I felt of our entire trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. If you could choose any hotel for your vacation this has to be the one because it will be your favorite. The food and staff were my favorites. The room was clean and comfy and they even had buckwheat pillows!

The best advice I can give is find where the biggest crowds are massed, all trying to impress deer with the same rice crackers that everyone else is trying to feed them, then pick a direction and walk away from them. There is so much more to the park: primeval forests, ancient stone pathways leading to temples and small villages older than most of our own countries, hidden pockets of lost time. It is hard to explain how it feels to not have another human being in sight, finding yourself passing stone idols carved by people hundreds of years ago, only to see a deer eating moss from the base of said idol that stops chewing to literally bow to you. Of course you bow back and scramble in your bag for some kind of treat to offer your new best friend (I recommend unsalted pretzel sticks, the deer hate plain rice crackers as much as we do at this point) and then having it gently eat from the palm of your hand, before you both again swap polite bows and go on your merry way. Then you hear a crow sing from the ancient forest behind you, and you just know: this is pretty cool.

Nice place, parks, plenty of temples, huge Buddha statues, a little ride by train and you can see the oldest still standing wooden building in the world!
And of course the deer! Feeding the deer with the deer cookies is fun and a little scary as they are quite bold and can pull and push you a bit.
Good food available as well.

There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out. Buses are easy to use though. Taxis can get busy - couldn’t get a booking.
There are two amazing restaurants at the bus station.
And there’s a seismic company building that is really interesting, and even has a great view from the top.

It was our first time in Nara.
It was our first time in Nara. Everyone who goes there must see Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and feed the the deer, sika senbei in Nara Park. Walking the covered shopping streets is great fun. You can find souvenirs and lots of places to eat.
Super clean, spacious rooms and big beds compared to the typical twin/double rooms we’ve seen at other hotels. Many things are automated (e.g. check-in done by a CGI velociraptor) but humans were on hand to assist as needed. Lots of additional services like free rental of manga. They also seemed to rent bicycles too although I didn’t use them. Great location within a 15 min walk to the station, Nara park, Todaiji
Our stay at ANDO HOTEL NARA was exceptional. This property is the perfect mix between beautiful facilities, amazing food and great service. The staff was very lovely and attentive and did everything to make our stay perfect. The food at the restaurant was some of the best food we had during our trip in Japan. It's definitely worth booking the panoramic view rooms that offer a beautiful view over the city.
Beautiful hotel! Our room was one of the most spacious ones on our trip, it was wonderful. Just a couple minutes away from the station with many good restaurants in the vicinity. We also had dinner in house once and both the curry and tonkatsu were very delicious. Next visit to Nara we will definitely aim to return to this hotel again!
The location is fabulous. Practically in Nara park. And so close to Naramachi, the neighborhood just south of Sarusawa Pond where there are many quaint restaurants that serve great food, not to mention the narrow streets with traditional houses that are a delight to explore. The check-in instructions were easy to follow.
Excellent location on quiet back street between train station and Nara Park. Easy walking to everything. Staff (via online) were extremely helpful when we asked to stay a third night. Rooms are larger than a hotel and super well laid out and comfortable. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
The location was ideal to walk to Nara park, and the husband and wife owners (I'm terrible with names 😅) were incredibly warming and open when I arrived, and helped to call a restaurant when I needed to check my booking.
My room was lovely, and this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!
Lovely hotel with very good amenities. It was great to be able to do washing and drying of clothes. Breakfast provided was very nice and coffee was great. The staff are very helpful and always friendly. Location is excellent - close to major attractions in Nara and the train station.
Modern hotel with humans free reception (check-in/checkout).
Room was small but comfortable. Bed was big enough for 2 people.
Location with city center, close to train station (2min walking), and the market. Nara park is walking distance too. Recommendef for families with kids
A beautiful hotel with wonderful onsen facilities. The room we booked was right size for two of us. We did enjoy the onsen and the complimentary snacks. Their staff was friendly, attentive and easy to communicate. Will stay here again in our next visit to Nara.
Great location, easy access to the JR line and walking distance to the park sites, kind staff, yummy breakfast, snacks and ramen at night, wonderful Onsen, tatami through out the hotel. Will definitely stay again and look for this hotel brand around Japan.
We stayed here for one night. The room was adequate for our stay. The location of the hotel is very convenient. It only takes 3-4 minutes to walk to the station. Nara Park is within a 10-minute distance from here.
