About this property
Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from lively Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho Street, Matsui Honkan features large public baths and chic Japanese-style rooms. It is within a 10-minute walk from Shijo, Karasuma and Kawaramachi subway stations. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the public area. Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room offers a relaxing ambiance and facilities like a flat-screen TV, a fridge and a telephone. Yukata robes and tea sets are available in the room. The private bathroom has a bath tub and free toiletries. Guests will be greeted with matcha green tea and Kyoto sweets at time of check-in. While staying at Honkan Matsui, guests can also receive massage in the room for a fee. Drinks vending machines and free luggage storage are available on site. The entire property has been renovated in April 2013. Dinner is available for an additional fee upon prior reservation. JR Kyoto Station is a 6-minute subway ride from Karasumaoike Station, which is a 10-minute walk from the property. Nijo-jo Castle, one of the World Heritage Sites, can be reached within a 20-minute walk.
